We have many false images in our minds concerning marriage, divorce and remarriage; these are image which we have accepted as true but have no support in the words given by Yehovah through Moses and His other prophets. If these false ideas are not corrected they will bring misery to our lives in the short-term and utter destruction in the long-term.
In part one we saw that a man can divorce a woman but that a woman never divorces her man. Doing so is like a man telling Yehovah that he does not want Him as his master. It is a rejection of the God-given authority in our life. Of course, men do this all the time. Instead of serving only Yehovah and keeping only His statutes, His ordinances and His judgments we leave Him and make covenants with other elohim (other law makers and judges). But He says “we, men, are to have no other elohim but Him.
“You shall have no other elohim but Me. (Exo 20:3)
This is exactly what a woman does when she rejects or leaves her rightful covering.
To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth sons; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.” (Gen 3:16)
But we live in a wicked world that encourages rebellion to Yehovah’s instructions at every turn. Many believe that feminism has made great strides in the last 150 years. I believe that Satan is the one that has made these great strides in order to leave women lost, alone and separated from the Creator because they have rebelled against the lawful authority which He has provided in their lives.
In the creation of the woman we saw that she was created to be an “aide suitable” to her man and that she was he; bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. It was not them that got kicked out of the garden it was “the man” (האדם ha adam).
So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. (Gen 3:24)
But where the man goes, so goes his woman.
The false image that needs to be addressed today concerns the woman who has left her man and now finds herself alone and uncovered. Ladies, if the Creator says that “he shall rule over you,” where is your he? Show me even one righteous Israelite woman in the law (Torah) or the prophets who has divorced her man and then lived alone. She does not exist; we have learned lies and accepted false images as truth.
Too many today have accepted the new testament commentaries as their truth and not sought Yehovah’s words given through Moses and His other prophets to confirm what they believe is the truth. We have accepted lies as truth because we are rebellious to Yehovah’s eternal and unchanging ways and live as though He does change and that His word does not endure forever.
But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am. (1Co 7:8)
There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of Yehovah, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world–how she may please her husband. And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve Yehovah without distraction. (1Co 7:34-35)
Augh! Where is this idea in Torah? There are no “nuns” in Yehovah’s kingdom! A woman who does not have a man to rule over her is an aberration and an abomination to Yehovah’s eternal, unchanging and set-apart ways. This is a life-style that deviates from Yehovah’s instructions. Who gave us the new testament commentaries anyway? These are not the words of Yehovah; even He can not change His own words given through Moses and His other prophets.
A woman choosing to leave her man, is a woman choosing to be her own elohim. I can not tell you how many times I have heard a woman say “Jesus (or Yeshua) is my husband!” Now, she is freeto do whatever she wants and say she is “being led by Jesus.” Oh, I wish I could write this to read as sarcastically as I can say it verbally. This attitude only displays a profound misunderstanding of who the “husband” is, who the “virgin bride” is and who Yeshua is. I talk about this topic at length in my “144,000 – Virgin of Israel” video. But let me say here – Yeshua is not the husband; he is part of the bride. He may be the head of the bride, as the king of Israel, but he is still part of the bride.
The virgin bride is Yehovah’s sons, the ezrach, the born in the land men. And, if the man is His virgin bride, the woman who is one with her man is His also. Here are a couple of places that Yehovah talks about who His virgin bride is.
For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall Your sons marry You; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your Elohim rejoice over you. (Isa 62:5)
“Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, the young men and the old, together; for I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them, and make them rejoice rather than sorrow. (Jer 31:13)
A woman must have a man in her life, there are no exceptions! An unmarried women whose father dies is an orphan (regardless of age and whether of not she has a mother) and a woman whose husband dies is a widow. But these widows and orphans are always to be cared for and covered by their near of kin.
If you, as a divorced or single woman are living alone without a man in your life to serve, and you believe that is OK, I encourage you to read all the many links that I have provided here and begin to renew your mind to Yehovah’s good and acceptable and perfect will.
There is a reason seven women will come to one man in these last days saying.
“We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel; only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach.” (Isa 4:1)
What is their reproach? They have no man in their life and they now realize how important it is that they have one. Yes, the lies we have learned are now coming to the light and being rejected as the false images that they are. These false images, which we have previously accepted as truth, are being toppled, trampled into dust and Yehovah’s words are beginning to reign supreme in the lives of those who desire to become His set-apart people.
The question that we will answer next time is this; “So what is a woman alone supposed to do?”
