(4) The Abomination
Last Days Sequence of Events – continued from:
(1) Will the True Passover Initiate the Great Tribulation?
(3) ISRAEL the STATE can’t stand!
(4) The Abomination
I don’t get it! Practically everyone who considers themselves God’s people would agree with the ideas that Yehovah does not change and that His word endures forever. That said, with their very next breath they will tell you that “Jesus changed this, and put an end to that; things are different now.”
Yeshua said,
Well has Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandments of God, you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups [your wearing of seat belts and your Sunday Sabbath]: and many other such like things you do. And he said unto them, full well you reject the commandments of God, that you may keep your own traditions. (Mar 7:6-9)
These contradictions between our words and our actual thoughts and actions are part of the great delusion that is coming on the earth in these last days. Those of us that will not renew our minds to the good and acceptable and perfect will of Yehovah will perish from the earth. Yehovah can not help us stand before our enemies and still be righteous if we will not learn and obey His unchanging and eternal word.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2Th 2:9-12)
After Jerusalem falls, the Assyrian will bring an end to the “daily,” the eternal, the continual, the perpetual, the taw-meed (H8548 תּמיד, tâmîyd); and replace it with an abomination that will bring desolation to the earth.
WordStudy defines taw-meed as: “A masculine noun meaning “continuity.” This word commonly refers to actions concerning religious rituals.’
And from the time that the continual H8548 sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate [is] set up, there shall be a thousand, two hundred, and ninety days. (Dan 12:11)
This is the beginning of a 3 1/2 year tribulation. The word “sacrifice” used here is added; it is the ‘continual’ ways given by Yehovah through Moses and the Prophets that are ‘taken away.’
“Therefore when you see the ‘ABOMINATION THAT MAKES DESOLATE,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. (Mat 24:15-18)
It appears to me, that what the Assyrian takes away is Torah, especially the Sabbath and the feasts of Yehovah. And, what he will but in place of them is a Sunday law. A friend sent me Constantine’s Christian Creed, I would expect the abomination that brings desolation to the earth to sound a lot like this.
”I renounce all customs, rites, legalisms, unleavened breads and sacrifices of lambs of the Hebrews, and all the other feasts of the Hebrews, sacrifices, prayers, aspirations, purifications, sanctifications, and propitiations, and fasts and new moons, and Sabbaths, and superstitions, and hymns and chants, and observances and synagogues. absolutely everything Jewish, every Law, rite and custom and if afterwards I shall wish to deny and return to Jewish superstition, or shall be found eating with Jews, or feasting with them, or secretly conversing and condemning the Christian religion instead of openly confuting them and condemning their vain faith, then let the trembling of Cain and the leprosy of Gehazi cleave to me, as well as the legal punishments to which I acknowledge myself liable. And may I be an anathema in the world to come, and may my soul be set down with Satan and the devils.” (Stcfano Assemani, Acta Sanctorium Martyrum Orientalium at Occidentalium, Vol. 1, Rome 1748, page 105)
The promoting of this law all over the world will have natural consequences, curses that will fall on the earth in the form of a great earthquake.
I will discuss the differences between this earthquake, that makes the world a desolation and a wilderness in later blogs. For now, suffice it to say that this earthquake will be very similar to the one that occurs just prior to the return of Yeshua, the true Messiah, at the end of the tribulation. But, the man who comes on the scene just after this first great shaking is the false-Messiah.
Because we, those who call ourselves Yehovah’s people, do not know what the Torah and Yehovah’s Prophets have to say on this matter we can be fooled into thinking this man is Yeshua that he has arrived after this first great shaking of the earth.
You say, “I could never think that the false messiah is the real Messiah!” But with your house is in shambles, your job gone, loved ones lost, the looting, raping and killing by gangs going from house to house looking for the provisions you stored up for such a time as this; your flesh, because of fear, grief and overwhelming hopelessness will say you can trust this man.
Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory for what does not profit. Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid; be very desolate,” says Yehovah. “For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns–broken cisterns that can hold no water. (Jer 2:11-13)
Just like the ‘man child,’ the true ‘branch of righteousness,’ the good ‘shepherds that feed the Yehovah’s flocks,’ and the ‘Elijah Prophet,’ all who turn the hearts of the people back to Yehovah and His ways before His king Yeshua comes for His people; the false prophet (looks like the Assyrian to me) will turn the hearts of the people of the earth into a way that they should not go and, in doing this, will prepare the way for the false Messiah. I have some ideas who that man is but that is another discussion.
Just like the mark of the false messiah, the nation born in a day that leads Yehovah’s people in the wilderness also have a mark on their hand and between their eyes which comes from Passover. Satan has a counterfeit for everything.
It shall be as a sign to you [speaking of keeping a true Passover] on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that Yehovah’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand Yehovah has brought you out of Egypt. You shall therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. (Exo 13:9-10)
Next time, the first fruits of the wheat harvest are sealed.
Please remember what I said at the beginning of this series. These blogs represent how I currently see things. All that I have presented thus far concerning the last days sequence of events fits well with all the scriptures for me, but I am continually adjusting my understandings to Yehovah’s word; which every one of us must do faithfully.

I cried when I read this, as I am so so new to the truth. I want so much not to be deceived but I am such a babe in the truth. God give me the strength and courage to keep me close to Him and not be lost.

Phyllis – our safety is to learning and doing only Yehovah’s ways. We have been taught so many lies in our past and it is painful sometimes to learn that a thought or understanding that we have held dear is not the truth. But we must all continue to be seekers of truth, of Yehovah’s image and kingdom on the earth.
