If we will not die to self now, and live completely for Yehovah Elohim (God) before the tribulation; then we will have to die in the tribulation, to be His.
After Yeshua (Jesus) died and had risen, it was Peter who said, in his typical, unthinking, fleshly, Neanderthal manner “I’m goin’ fishin’!” and then took six of Yeshua’s disciples with Him. Fishing is how he had always made his living; so he was returning to his old ways of providing for his flesh.
Later that day Yeshua [gesturing toward the fish which Peter and the rest of the disciples had caught] asked Peter, “Do you love me more than these? Then feed My sheep!”
What is our energy going towards today? Fish or sheep? (Please read the story in John 21 here.)
Yeshua said we should not worry about what we will eat, what we will drink, what we will wear, how we will pay our bills for home, heat, internet, cars, entertainment, etc., etc., etc.. He continued: instead “seek ye first the kingdom of Yehovah and His righteousness and all these things will be taken care of.” We must seek it, learn it, live it and teach it to be all we can be in his kingdom, both now and forever!
To my knowledge Peter never went fishing again after that day.
“Father, give me that kind of conviction to serve You only; I want to experience Your continued provision in my life!”
Yes, we all need to constantly examine ourselves to see where are focus is. Faith not fear. Trust, obedience, courage, but most of all love our Elohim and each other!
Thank you for your inspiration! Always good to be reminded.
