I Am Yehovah

I am YehovahMany times in Exodus chapters 6 – 10 Yehovah reveals himself to Moses saying “I am Yehovah;” and I see  a spiritual growth in Moses as he begins to understand the authority that Yehovah has ordained him to walk in.

Moses has felt inept to speak for Yehovah from the beginning. When Yehovah first spoke to Moses, his immediate response was his inability to speak well.

Then Moses said to Yehovah, “My Master [adoni], I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” (Exo 4:10)

Here is Yehovah’s response to the man He has chosen to lead His people.

So the anger of Yehovah was kindled against Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as Elohim. (Exo 4:14-16)

So Moses went to Egypt and spoke to the elders of His people and to Pharaoh. However things did not go as Moses expected and he complained to Yehovah saying,

So Moses returned to Yehovah and said, “My Master [adoni], why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.” (Exo 5:22-23)

I Am Yehovah!

This time Yehovah answers saying “I am Yehovah!” Moses, and all Yehovah called-out men, must starting listening to what Yehovah says and begin acting in accordance with His words.

And Elohim spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am Yehovah. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as Elohim Almighty, but by My name, Yehovah, I was not known to them. (Exo 6:2-3)

He goes on saying,

Therefore say to Israel’s seed [perversely know as “the children of Israel”]: ‘I am Yehovah; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am Yehovah your Elohim who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a possession: I am Yehovah.‘ ” (Exo 6:6-8)

And it came to pass, on the day Yehovah spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, that Yehovah spoke to Moses, saying, “I am Yehovah. Speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you.” (Exo 6:28-29)

Moses is a man, just like all men. He has fears, doubts and feelings of inadequacy. Even after all the Elohim  and creator of all things has spoken to him he still says “I am of uncircumcised lips.” Listen to what Yehovah says this time!

Yehovah Says Moses Shall Be As Elohim To Pharaoh

So Yehovah said to Moses: “See, I have made you as Elohim to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. (Exo 7:1)

When Moses begins his ongoing dialogue with Pharaoh he has Aaron handle the Rod of Elohim. But it is not long before we begin to see Moses say and do things that even Yehovah did not tell him to do.

So Yehovah did according to the word of Moses. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields. (Exo 8:13)

Before long it is Moses who is doing everything as he begins to understand and walk in the authority which Yehovah has given to him.

For many years I have understood that Yehovah’s name is represents the idea that “what He says, He will do”. But I still have to say that I was very pleased when I went back to the first verse I read that gave me this understanding and saw the very same words. “I am Yehovah!”

I will put My spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am Yehovah. I have spoken it and performed it!,” says Yehovah.’ ” (Eze 37:14)

In the last days Yehovah will raise up men, just like he raised up Moses, who will speak for Him in the earth. They will all understand that what Yehovah says, He will do. They too will speak for Yehovah and see Him answer according to their words.  The “he” which Yehovah is speaking about here is the plural “he” who will speak for Him.

His delight is in the fear of Yehovah, and he shall not judge by the sight of his eyes, nor decide by the hearing of his ears. But with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. (Isa 11:3-4)

Spiritually Born Seed

Spiritually Born SeedGenesis 15 is all about Yehovah’s promise to Abram to give him “seed” [זרע, ze·rah]. This word often gets translated as “descendants;” but to be clear, when Yehovah talks about “seed,” He is always referring to men. It is the man who carries the seed of future generations and it is the man who produces after his own kind; ha·a·dam [the man] begat seed after his own image and kind after the fall, not Yehovah’s. But we will see, in this chapter, that the seed Yehovah is promising Abram, is spiritually born seed  and this seed is Yehovah’s kind.

To really understand this portion of Yehovah’s word we must have a broad understanding of the Torah and Yasher in order to see how all the pieces fit together. Exodus 12 says that Israel, Yehovah’s spiritually born seed, came out of Egypt exactly 430 years to that very same day.

Now the sojourn of Israel’s seed who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years–on that very same day–it came to pass that all the armies of Yehovah went out from the land of Egypt. (Exo 12:40-41)

This number always bothered me because I knew that Israel could not have been under Pharaoh’s rule for 430 years; the numbers just do not work. When Jacob came with his family to Egypt, Levi and his sons, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari, were already born and his daughter (their sister, Yochebed) was in uterus. She was counted among the 70 souls, but only 69 were enumerated in the role in Genesis 46.

Moses’ father was Amram, the son of Kohath, and his mother was Yochebed the daughter of Levi. So unless Yochebed had Moses at 350, something is wrong with this picture and I had to solve this mystery.

So how long were we in Egypt? Where does the count for the 430 years,
to the very same day, begin? How does the prophecy, which Abram received in his dream in Genesis 15, concerning the 400 years of Abram’s seed dwelling in “Egypt,” fit into this story? And how does a man become a spiritually born seed of Abram, a.k.a. “Israel’s seed”?

When I read Yasher for the first time (in 2008 or so) some of these answers started to emerge, but it was not until I was preparing this lesson for my Sabbath class this week that all the pieces fell together. Here is what I found then.

Jasher 81:4 And at the end of two hundred and ten years, Yehovah brought forth Israel’s seed from Egypt with a strong hand.
5 And Israel’s seed traveled from Egypt and from Goshen and from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth on the fifteenth day of the first month.

This is the day that we began by eating our Passover lambs and goats; it is the 1st day of the feast of Unleavened Bread. And because I know that Yehovah does not change and His word endures forever I had to find out what happened 430 years ago on that very same day.

Armed with this new number (210 years we were in “Egypt”) I began to work backwards. The 210 years had to start with Jacob arriving in Egypt. So how old was Jacob when he arrived?

Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How old are you?” And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.” (Gen 47:8-9)

Now, that was progress; 210 + 130 = 340 years; so I kept looking.

Next, in my quest to understand the 430 years, I asked, “How old was Isaac when Jacob was born? And I found that also.

Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. (Gen 25:26)

I see it now, but I did not see it then.   Probably because I was looking for 430 years to that very same day and not 400 years to that very same day; 340 + 60 = 400! But my quest to understand the 430 continued with a partial answer right before my eyes. 430 years minus 400 years left a deficit of 30 years. Abram was 100 when Isaac (as we now know is the spiritually born seed) was born on the moed called “the time of Life. But in Genesis, the 1st time Yehovah makes his promise to Abram concerning the seed he is 75 years old. Augh! that left me a 5 year shortage; instead of 430 years I could only come up with 425 years. I shared my research with some friends but they also had no answers.

Finally the day came (about 5 years ago) that I discovered the missing 5 years. I was again reading Yasher (for about the 4th time) and this verse literally jumped out at me.

Jasher 13:17 And it was in the fifteenth year of Abram’s dwelling in the land of Canaan, which is the seventieth year of the life of Abram, and Yehovah appeared to Abram in that year and he said to him, I am Yehovah who brought thee out from Ur Casdim to give thee this land for an inheritance. 18 Now therefore walk before me and be perfect and keep my commands, for to thee and to thy seed I will give this land for an inheritance, from the river Mitzraim unto the great river Euphrates. 19 And thou shalt come to thy fathers in peace and in good age, and the fourth generation [this is referring to Moses, the only other man in Torah to call Yehovah “adoni” / “my master”] shall return here in this land and shall inherit it forever; and Abram built an altar, and he called upon the name of Yehovah who appeared to him, and he brought up sacrifices upon the altar to Yehovah.

From the time Abram was 55, he had dwelt in Canaan for 15 year and in Haran for 5, before he left for Canaan, for the 2nd time, at 75 as recorded in Genesis 12. Yehovah first spoke to Abram about his seed, the spiritually born men, inheriting their land when Abram was 70 (at the end of his 1st sojourn in Canaan); and this solved the riddle for me concerning the 430 years to that very same day. What is it that Yehovah is teaching us about that very same and special day?

What day (that very same day) was it that Yehovah spoke to Abram? I have found that Yehovah speaks to His men primarily on His moeds; Sabbaths, new moons and feast days. That day, that very same day, was what we now call the Passover; but back then it was called “the time of life.” That very same day that Abram’s spiritually born seed, Isaac, was  birthed;  and the very same day that Israel’s seed, Yehovah’s spiritually born men, were birthed as well. Here is my out-line for both the 430 and the 400 year prophecies which Yehovah gave to Abram when he was 70 and when he was 78, respectively. So much to learn, so little time.

Abram’s Spiritually Born Seed

0 Yehovah‘s promise to Abram
Jasher 13:17 And it was in the fifteenth year of Abram’s dwelling in the land of Canaan, which is the seventieth year of the life of Abram, and Yehovah appeared to Abram in that year and he said to him, I am Yehovah who brought thee out from Ur Casdim to give thee this land for an inheritance. 18 Now therefore walk before me and be perfect and keep my commands, for to thee and to thy seed I will give this land for an inheritance, from the river Mitzraim unto the great river Euphrates.

+5 years later Abram (75) departs from Haran
So Abram departed as Yehovah had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. (Gen 12:4)

+ 25  years after Abram leave Haran Isaac is born
Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. (Gen 21:5)

+ 60  years is Isaac’ age when Jacob is born
Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. (Gen 25:26)

+130 years is Jacob speaks to Pharaoh when he arrives in Egypt with his family
Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How old are you?” And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.” (Gen 47:8-9)

+210 Years in which we actually did live in Egypt
Jasher 81:4 And at the end of two hundred and ten years, Yehovah brought forth the sons of Israel from Egypt with a strong hand. 5 And the sons of Israel traveled from Egypt and from Goshen and from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth on the fifteenth day of the first month.

 ___
430 Years Total

This means that Abram received this prophecy, when he was 70 years old, on the 15th day of the first month!

Oh my, the ramifications of this new knowledge is mind-boggling for folks  who will leave their doctrines and traditions of men behind and begin to learn only Yehovah’s words given through Moses.

WE are so blessed to have Yehovah’s word, in some ways more than Abram. He could not see what we can now see clearly if we will take the time and do the work to understand the message line upon line.

“Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” (Isa 28:9-10)

  • Abram was in spiritual Egypt his whole life.
  • Ishmael can not be the promised seed.
  • Isaac and Israel’s seed were both born on the same day.
  • The “smoking stove” and the “flaming torch” that passed through the pieces in Abram’s dream was the “pillar of smoke and fire” which appeared with Moses and led us out of our Egypt and into Yehovah’s kingdom and toward our land.
  • All this is going to happen again!

Please consider joining my Sabbath classes each week; but be warned, these classes are NOT for those who love the doctrines and traditions of men that we have all learned. This is strong meat, for those who have eyes that see and a heart that desires to understand more.

Here is what we went through in this week.

Yehovah’s Servants (8) The Mighty Ones

I closed part 7 by saying,

“Those who come to Yehovah will be happy and content for almost a whole year after they join themselves (and their families) to the sent one nearest them. But in one single day something is going to happen which will turn the whole earth into a desolation and a wilderness. And it will be at this time that we will see these sent ones, these beings, these mighty ones go to war as the arm of Yehovah. You thought they seemed like “Gods” already? Wait until you see them fight. When the strength of the world comes against them, you will see Yehovah defend the few against the many.”

To understand the coming last days, we must have a better understanding of the series of events that will take place. And that is what this series (here is part 1) and my “Last Days” series is all about. These beings, these mighty ones, are the nation born in a day, at Passover and they are sealed and set-apart, as Yehovah’s Shalachim, His sent ones, at Shavuot.

It is at this Shavuot that people begin to come to Yehovah at each of these set-apart locations all over the world. It is in those locations that everyone who comes to them will receive provision, protection and instruction in righteousness.

But the elohim (the lawmakers and judges) of the world are scared; they see what is happening and realize  that all this trouble started at Passover the year before. So in a effort to ward off further loss of their workforce they will make a proclamation saying that there will be no more keeping of Passover. And this prohibition is the taking away of the eternal, the continual, the perpetual, the taw-meed (תּמיד, tâmîyd).

WordStudy defines taw-meed as: “A masculine noun meaning “continuity.” This word commonly refers to actions concerning religious rituals.’

And from the time that the continual H8548 slaughter is taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate is given, there shall be a thousand, two hundred, and ninety days. (Dan 12:11)

It appears to me that the elohim of the world will put forth this prohibition exactly 30 days prior to Passover with a warning that anyone who participates in Passover will be killed. Pharaoh tried to do the same thing. Yehovah told Moses to speak to Pharaoh.

Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says Yehovah: “My son, My firstborn, is Israel. So I say to you, let My son go that he may serve Me.” But if you refuse to let him go, indeed I will kill your son, your firstborn.” ‘ ” (Exo 4:22-23)

This prohibition against the keeping of a true Passover IS the “abomination that makes desolate.” But we, Yehovah’s people, are going to do what He expects from us in each of our locations (all over the world); and because we obey only Him, we will see the might of the world come against us like a flood right after Passover.

So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. (Rev 12:15-16)

It is at this time that we will see the first of two great shakings in the earth. This one will plunge the earth back into the dark-ages and destroy the infrastructure of the New World Order (NWO). The moon and the sun will darken, cities, homes, factories will fall and the stars will be diminished. (I talk about this in my blog entitled “Are You ready for the Wilderness?“) This first great shaking of the earth which will kill / swallow the flood (which comes against us in all of our places), turns the world into a desolation and begins the 1260 day count-down to the great day of Yehovah. The second shaking will be more violent than the first and will seem as if the stars are falling as well. But what is falling from the skies are 75 pound chunks/hunks of burning brimstone (just like what happened in Sodom). In this context, you should also read my blog called “Will a True Passover Initiate the Great Tribulation?

Well, now things get very exciting for Yehovah’s shalachim, His mighty ones. Because they represent Him, the flood was not coming against His mighty ones (and all those who have come to them in the past year), it was coming against Him; and this attack on Him is license for Him and His host (His tse-va-ot) to go to war (in each of their locations) in order to make the whole world His. We are the mighty ones, a people who come, great and strong. The world will have no defense against us, we are the arm of Yehovah who look and act like, dare I say, “super heroes”.

The prophets of Yehovah talk about these men in many places, but Joel 2 is one of the most descriptive. They have the strength of a horse and can run as quickly, they can jump 75 feet in the air, they run between weapons and are not cut down; and when they yell / roar everyone around them pees their pants and runs away.  They  will not, and can not be killed!

Here is a  portion of Joel 2 for your consideration.

mighty onesBlow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of Yehovah is coming, for it is at hand. A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.
Like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. a people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations.
A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; the land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness. Surely nothing shall escape them.
Their appearance is like the appearance of horses [muscular and strong]; and like swift steeds, so they run with a noise like chariots; over mountaintops they leap, like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble. Like a strong people set in battle array. Before them the people writhe in pain; all faces are drained of color.
They run like mighty ones, they climb the wall like men of war; every one marches in formation, and they do not break ranks. They do not push one another; every one marches in his own column. Though they lunge between the weapons, they are not cut down. They run to and fro in the city, they run on the wall; they climb into the houses, they enter at the windows like a thief.

The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness. Yehovah gives voice before His army [His host], for His camp is very great. For strong is the one who executes His word. For the day of Yehovah is great and very terrible. Who can endure it? (Joe 2:1-11)

Even Yasher talks about Jacob’s 10 sons going to war against the 7 great cities of the Canaanites. This 7 day battle also starts with a great shaking of the earth which puts fear into the hearts of all their (Canaan’s) mighty men. 50, 60 70,000 die when Jacob’s 10 sons (all in their teens and early 20s), and 102 servants go to war along with their dad (105 years old) and his bow. Here is a sampling of what they can do, but you should take the time to read chapters 37 – 40 in Yasher. Here is a PDF, my latest working copy of Yasher, which I use in my Sabbath class each week.

Yasher 37:17 And when Jacob ceased praying to Yehovah the earth shook from its place, and the sun darkened, and all these kings were terrified and a great consternation seized them.
18 And Yehovah hearkened to the prayer of Jacob, and Yehovah impressed the hearts of all the kings and their hosts with the terror and awe of Jacob’s seed.
19 For Yehovah caused them to hear the sound of chariots, and the sound of mighty horses from Jacob’s seed, and the sound of a great army accompanying them.
20 And these kings were seized with great terror at Jacob’s seed, and whilst they were standing in their quarters, behold Jacob’s seed advanced upon them, with one hundred and twelve men, with a great and tremendous shouting.

Yasher 37:23 And Jacob’s seed came near and advanced against all these kings and their armies, and they saw, and behold it was a very mighty people, numerous as the sand of the sea.
24 And Jacob’s seed called unto Yehovah and said, Help us O Yehovah, help us and answer us, for we trust in thee, and let us not die by the hands of these uncircumcised men, who this day have come against us.
42 And Jacob’s seed caused fifteen thousand of their men to fall, and they smote them as if smiting at gourds, and the rest fled for their lives.

Yasher 38:29 And Jacob’s seed came near to break open the doors of the gates of the city, and the inhabitants did not let them, for from the top of the wall they were casting stones and arrows upon them.
30 And the number of the people who were upon the wall was about four hundred men, and when Jacob’s seed saw that the men of the city would not let them open the gates of the city, they sprang and ascended the top of the wall, and Judah went up first to the east part of the city.
31 And Gad and Asher went up after him to the west corner of the city, and Simeon and Levi to the north, and Dan and Reuben to the south.
32 And the men who were on the top of the wall, the inhabitants of the city, seeing that Jacob’s seed were coming up to them, they all fled from the wall, descended into the city, and concealed themselves in the midst of the city.

Yasher 39:7 And the inhabitants of Arbelan heard the noise of the shouting of Jacob’s seed, and their roaring like the noise of lions and like the roaring of the sea and its waves.
8 And fear and terror possessed their hearts on account of Jacob’s seed, and they were terribly afraid of them, and they retreated and fled before them into the city, and Jacob’s seed pursued them to the gate of the city, and they came upon them in the city.

When you see these mighty ones fight you will understand why Isaiah says, “those who wait upon Yehovah will renew their strength”.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting Elohim, Yehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths [the young men who never get tired] shall faint and be weary, and the young men [the strength and the might of the world’s armies] shall utterly fall, but those who wait upon Yehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isa 40:28-31)

It is these shalachim (sent ones), Yehovah’s mighty ones (a.k.a the 144,000) and those who join themselves to them (as their “pure of heart” servants) who will be preserved through the great day of Yehovah at the end of the 1260 day’s tribulation and be brought into the millennial kingdom alive and well; just as Noah and those with Him came through the flood. Everyone else will perish from the earth and be forgotten forever.

I, for one, can’t wait to see Yehovah fulfill all the words that He has spoken concerning the coming last days; He always does what He says.
