Tower Of Babel

tower of babelIt was Ham (a man of the flesh) and all of his seed whom, Noah said, were to serve Shem, Japheth (men of the spirit) and all their seed. Shem was to lead the family with Japheth dwelling in his tent; under his authority. And Ham was to be their servant; a man of the flesh must never be allowed to lead a man of the spirit.

So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. Then he said: “Cursed be ; a servant of servants he shall be to his brethren.” And he said: “Blessed be Yehovah, Shem’s Elohim, and may Canaan be his servant. May Elohim enlarge Japheth, and may he dwell in Shem’s tent; and may Canaan be his servant.” (Gen 9:24-27)

Did Noah really curse Canaan (his grandson) for something his father had done? You will have to read “Noah Cursed Canaan?” to deepen your understandings.

It was Ham who stole the garments (garments which came from Adam and his woman) from his father (Noah) when he came off the ark; garments meant for Shem. He stole them and gave them in secret to Cush, so his seed would become great on the earth.

And it was when Cush gave the garments to Nimrod at 20 that he became the “profaned mighty one” on the earth.

This is the reason his father and uncles served him, and not Shem and Japheth’s seed. They were all rebelling against Yehovah and his eternal and unchanging ways. Listen to what these men decided to do.

Yasher 9:21 And all Nimrod’s princes and his great men took counsel together; Phut, Mitzraim, Cush and Canaan with their families, and they said to each other, Come let us build ourselves a city and in it a strong tower, and its top reaching heaven, and we will make ourselves famed, so that we may reign upon the whole world, in order that the evil of our enemies may cease from us, that we may reign mightily over them, and that we may not become scattered over the earth on account of their wars.

Of course, all Nimrod’s princes are Ham’s sons. And their enemies are Shem and Japheth’s seed (that is all that is left). Yehovah told Noah and his sons to be fruitful, then multiply and then fill the earth; but these wicked men of the flesh want to make a name for themselves and keep from being scattered over the earth. Instead of exalting Yehovah’s name and His eternal kingdom, they want to make a name and a kingdom for themselves. Is that really any different from what men are doing all over the face of the earth right now?

Nimrod and Abram’s brother’s  were born very close together and Haran  (Abram’s eldest brother) was 32 old when Abram was born. In Yasher 9 and 10 we will see that Abram (living with Noah and Shem) was about 40 years old when the tower of Babel was begun and 48 when it was destroyed.

Yasher 9:39 39 And many of ha·a·dams seed died in that tower, a people [all men] without number.

We will see today this is where Nimrod gets his nickname; Amraphel.

Yasher 10:1 And Peleg the son of Eber died in those days, in the forty-eighth year of the life of Abram son of Terah, and all the days of Peleg were two hundred and thirty-nine years.

This also answers a question that we had in Torah. Genesis says,

To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan. (Gen 10:25)

“For in his days the earth was divided?” What does that mean? Peleg’s days are also Noah’s days, Shem’s days, Arphaxad’s days, Shalach’s days, Eber’s days, his brother Joktan’s days and even Terah’s (and all of his sons’ days), and that includes Abram’s days.

It appears to me that Peleg was one of them who was working on the tower of Babel and was killed during destruction.

Oh – so much to learn, and so little time; a lifetime is hardly enough. Please listen to this video and discover some of the other fun things we found today.

The Blessings And Curses

blessings and cursesDeuteronomy 28 is Moses’ review, at Mount Gerizim  and Mount Ebal, of the blessings and curses that Yehovah pronounced in Leviticus 26. Israel’s seed is blessed for following the statutes, judgements and ordinances of Yehovah, their Elohim (the lawmaker and judge) and cursed for following the statutes, judgements and ordinances of other lawmakers and judges.

This is not about Gentiles. Men either lay down their life in service to Yehovah, leave the kingdom of their birth and join themselves to Him and His other called-out people, or they are nothing more than walking dead. And women must learn to lay down their life in service to their man. Everyone must conform their life to Yehovah’s created purpose, or perish forever.

Torah, The Words Of The LORD (Yehovah) Given Through Moses

DeuteronomyTorah, the words of The LORD (Yehovah) given to Moses; and most include Deuteronomy as part of those words. But I have often found  the “common understandings” are often perverted or flat-out wrong.

Because of the MANY things that I have found in Deuteronomy that do not agree with Yehovah’s words in Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers I have been forced to reconsider some things that I have previously considered as fact.

In this video I talk at length about some of my thoughts concerning the book of Deuteronomy as it relates to, what most folks would call, “the rest of Torah.”

I also discuss, what seem to be, additional perversions in Deuteronomy 26 concerning the “3rd year tithe.”

Who were the Levites speaking to when they called out the curses of Deuteronomy 27 from Mount Ebal?

You may be surprised.

Dry Bones of Ephraim Filled The Valley

Ephraim's dry bonesThis story found in Yasher about Ephraim’s dry bones is the same story which is referred to in 1 Chronicles.

Moses left Egypt when he was 18, served Kikianus (the king of Cush) for 9 years and then at the king’s death he, at 27, became the king of Cush. I talked about this last time in Moses’ timeline and Life from 3 – 27.

In this portion of the book of Yasher Moses is now 67 and we find that from the time Moses leaves Egypt until the time he arrives at Reuel’s, or Jethro’s, house and helps Zipporah and her sisters at the well that 49 years have gone by.

Yasher 76:12 So Moses went forth from the land of Cush, and headed home [Egypt] and ceased to reign over Cush, and Moses was sixty-six years old when he went out of the land of Cush, for the thing was from Yehovah, for the period had arrived which he had appointed in the days of old, to bring forth Israel from the affliction of the Ham’s seed.
13 So Moses went to Midian, for he was afraid to return to Egypt on account of Pharaoh, and he went and sat at a well of water in Midian.
14 And the seven daughters of Reuel the Midianite went out to feed their father’s flock.

Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water, and they filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. Then the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock. (Exo 2:16-17)

But Moses still did not marry Zipporah for another 10 years.

Yasher 76:22 And when Reuel had heard the words of Moses, Reuel said within himself, I will put this man into the prison house, whereby I shall conciliate Cush’s seed, for he has fled from them.
23 And they took and put him into the prison house, and Moses was in prison ten years, and whilst Moses was in the prison house, Zipporah the daughter of Reuel took pity over him, and supported him with bread and water all the time.

There is so much that I would like to relate to you from this section, but space is limited here.

Ephraim’s Dry Bones Filled The Valley

But in the 180th year of Israel going down to Egypt we find a very interesting story.

Yasher 75:1 At that time, in the 180th year of the Israelites going down into Egypt, there went forth from Egypt valiant men, thirty thousand on foot, from Israel’s seed, who were all of the tribe of Joseph, of Ephraim’s seed, the son of Joseph.
2 For they said the period was completed which Yehovah had appointed to Israel’s seed in the times of old, which he had spoken to Abraham.

Here is what Yehovah told Abram when he was 75 years old.

Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions. (Gen 15:13-14)

Well, this 400 years and how long we were actually in Egypt are intimately related. If you ask just about any person who “thinks” they know the scriptures, they will tell you that Israel was in Egypt for 430 years.

Now the sojourn of Israel’s seed who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of Yehovah went out from the land of Egypt. (Exo 12:40-41)

They would be wrong! We were in Egypt for only 210 years. True understanding and wisdom does not come from knowing a single verse; it comes precept upon precept and line upon line, here a little and there a little.

“Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” (Isa 28:9-10)

The timeline below took me years to figure out; and it was not until I discovered Yasher that I was able to complete it.

0   Abram receives the prophecy.  “And it was in the fifteenth year of Abram’s dwelling in the land of Canaan, which is the seventieth year of the life of Abram, and Yehovah appeared to Abram in that year and he said to him, I am Yehovah who brought thee out from Ur Casdim to give thee this land for an inheritance. Now therefore walk before me and be perfect and keep my commands, for to thee and to thy seed I will give this land for an inheritance, from the river Mitzraim unto the great river Euphrates.  (Jasher 13:17-18)

+   5  Abram departs from Haran a second time when he is 75 years old – “So Abram departed as Yehovah had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.” (Gen_12:4)

+ 25  “Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.” (Gen_21:5 )

+ 60  Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. (Gen_25:26)

+130 Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How old are you?” And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.” (Gen 47:8-9)

+210 And at the end of two hundred and ten years, Yehovah brought forth Israel’s seed from Egypt with a strong hand. And Israel’s seed traveled from Egypt and from Goshen and from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth on the fifteenth day of the first month. (Jasher 81:4-5)
___
  430 Years Total

This means that Abram received this prophecy on the 15th day of the first month; Passover day!

And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of Yehovah went out from the land of Egypt. (Exo 12:40-41)

This means that when Ephraim left Egypt saying that “the time was fulfilled,” that it really was! They were acting on the words of the prophecy, but doing it in their on flesh. I think that this is exactly what Judah did in going to Israel in their flesh, as it were, before it was time. Israel the STATE is going down before Yehovah raises up His called-out men; just like the Ephraimites were destroyed in this portion.

Yasher 75:6 And they directed their course toward the land of Gath, and they went down and found the shepherds of Gath feeding the cattle of Gath’s seed.
7 And they said to the shepherds, Give us some of the sheep for pay, that we may eat, for we are hungry, for we have eaten no bread this day.
8 And the shepherds said, Are they our sheep or cattle that we should give them to you even for pay? So Ephraim’s seed approached to take them by force.

Yasher 75:10 And when Gath’s seed saw the evil doings of Ephraim’s seed, they returned and assembled the men of Gath, and they put on each man his armor, and came forth to Ephraim’s seed for battle.

Yasher 75:16 And they smote all Ephraim’s seed, all who had gone forth from Egypt, none were remaining but ten men who had run away from the engagement.
17 For this evil was from Yehovah against Ephraim’s seed, for they transgressed the word of Yehovah in going forth from Egypt, before the period had arrived which Yehovah in the days of old had appointed to Israel.

Yasher 75:19 And the slain of Ephraim’s seed remained forsaken in the valley of Gath for many days and years, and were not brought to burial, and their dry bones filled the valley.

Many will think that this is just a story and that it really did not happen, but listen to how it concludes.

Yasher 75:21 And their father Ephraim [now 185 years old] mourned over them for many days, and his brethren came to console him.
22 And he came unto his wife and she bare a son, and he called his name Beriah, for she was unfortunate in his house.

Now look at this.

The men of Gath who were born in that land killed them because they came down to take away their cattle. Then Ephraim, their father, mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him. And when he went in to his wife, she conceived and bore a son; and he called his name Beriah, because tragedy had come upon his house. (1Ch 7:21-23)

AMAZING! So much to learn, so little time. Below is an audio to the whole of these 3 stories and much more.

My old dry bones were very dry, and I too was forsaken in the valley of death. But Yehovah brought me out from the kingdom of my birth, placed me in His kingdom and then 8 years ago breathed life into me at the Time of Life, Passover! And He is right now preparing me and and many thousands of other men to lead His people through the coming last days.

Joseph Ruled Egypt For 80 Years

Joseph ruled egyptJoseph ruled Egypt from the time he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream (30) until his death (110).

Joseph was 56 when his father Jacob and his wicked uncle Esau died at 147. The Pharaoh that raised Joseph up, above everyone in his land, loved him so much that he gave him charge over his son Magron after his death and asked Joseph (71) to be a father to him and to guide him. So Joseph ruled Egypt for an additional 39 years. Here is a link to my Joseph timeline.

I love the book of Yasher; it has helped me make sense of many things in Torah, and in the book Joshua, that just were not clear until I heard the rest of the story from it. Much of the next 4 lessons come from Yasher and you will see that they provide great light for those who search Yehovah’s word as a man searches for silver and fine gold. Of course neither of those precious commodities are just lying around waiting to be picked up. But I have searched them out and found some very precious pieces, and I am doing my best to help you find them as well.

Joseph Ruled Egypt And The Surrounding Countries

Concerning the death of Pharaoh, Yasher says,

Yasher 58:1 And it came to pass in the thirty-second year of the Israelites going down to Egypt, that is in the seventy-first year of the life of Joseph, in that year died Pharaoh king of Egypt, and Magron his son reigned in his stead.
2 And Pharaoh commanded Joseph before his death to be a father to his son, Magron [41], and that Magron should be under the care of Joseph and under his counsel.

Yasher 58:6 And Joseph became king over Egypt, for he superintended over all Egypt, and all Egypt was under his care and under his counsel, for all Egypt inclined to Joseph after the death of Pharaoh, and they loved him exceedingly to reign over them.

Yasher 58:9 And Pharaoh king of Egypt sat upon his throne in his father’s stead, but he was under the control and counsel of Joseph, as he was at first under the control of his father.
10 Neither did he reign but in the land of Egypt only, under the counsel of Joseph, but Joseph reigned over the whole country at that time, from Egypt unto the great river Perath.
11 And Joseph was successful in all his ways, and Yehovah was with him, and Yehovah gave Joseph additional wisdom, and honor, and glory, and love toward him in the hearts of the Egyptians and throughout the land, and Joseph ruled Egypt forty years.

Concerning the sons of Jacob, Yasher says, Continue reading Joseph Ruled Egypt For 80 Years

Jacob’s Last Words

Jacob's last wordsJacob is now 147 and has lived 17 years in Egypt after being reunited with Joseph, but now his eyes have failed and he is weak and dying.  Torah and Yasher covers Jacob’s last words to his sons and grand-sons (his seed). Some of Jacob’s last words are blessings, some are rebukes, and some are instructions to his sons for after he is gone.

In Jacob’s last words to his grand-sons (who appear to be twins), and against the wishes of their father Joseph, he sets the younger over the elder. I believe that this is a shadow picture of the second born, spiritual man ruling over the first-born, man of the flesh which we find so often in the scriptures. Here are a few examples.

  • Able replaces Cain
  • Isaac replaces Ishmael as firstborn
  • Jacob replaces Esau as firstborn
  • Joseph replaces Reuben; Joseph received the “double blessing” which usually goes to the 1st born.
  • Ephraim replaces Manasseh as firstborn
  • Kohath replaces Gershon (Gen 46:11)

Ephraim and Manasseh learned the ways of Yehovah in the house of Jacob, and in Genesis 48 Jacob even seems to claim them as his own sons.

Yasher 55:35 Ephraim and Manasseh, remained constantly in the house of Jacob, together with the sons of the sons of Jacob their brethren, to learn the ways of Yehovah and his law.

And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. (Gen 48:5)

Why else would the twins be listed with Jacob’s sons and become the fathers of two of the twelve tribes who inherit land in Canaan? Continue reading Jacob’s Last Words
