Two Witnesses Mark The Beginning Of The End

Two witnesses. I have heard people talk of the two witnesses my entire life. But I am ashamed to say that these two witnesses might just as well have been called the “two Smiths.” Until this week I never realized that they are Yehovah’s eyes, the two men that He needs to confirm His judgments on a wicked people.

Two Witnesses Are Required For Any Death Sentence

Whoever is deserving of death shall be put to death on the testimony of two witnesses, or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness. The hands of the witnesses shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from among you. (Deu 17:6-7)

“One witness shall not rise against a man (eesh) concerning any iniquity or any sin that he commits; by the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses the matter shall be established. (Deu 19:15)

If we do a search for the phrase “Two Witnesses” in all of what most people call the “Bible” we will find that there is only one place that talks about two men who are called “two witnesses.” That phrase is only found in the NT commentaries in the book called “The Revelation of John.” Before this week I would have said that you will not find “two witnesses” in Torah. But I am always learning, and this week was no different.

And I will give power to My two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” (Rev 11:3)

Look at that! The two witnesses are called, “My Two Witnesses.” So cool, in light of what we saw today.

The Two witnesses, Are Men; Not Angels!

AND he [Abraham] saw Yehovah coming towards him, by Mamre’s strong tree, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men [enoshim, plural of eesh] were coming to him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, “My Master [adoni], if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant.” (Gen 18:1-3)

Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. And he said, “Here now, my master [adoni], please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.” (Gen 19:1-2)

Angels!? I hate the use of all “religious” words that mislead men who want to  know Yehovah and His eternal and unchanging ways. The word malach or malak is often translated as angels, but they are “messengers” who are sent (shalach) by Yehovah to speak and act on His behalf. Throughout Genesis chapters 18 and 19 these supposed “angels” are called “enoshim,”  the plural form of “eesh” or “man”. The three men in chapter 18 who come to Abraham, and the two men who come to Lot in chapter 18 are known by them.

Elohim is not a eesh, that He should lie, nor a son of adam, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Num 23:19)

So Who Were These Three Men?

The answer to this question comes when we understand what a sent one, a shalach, actually is. I like to use the example of Eliezer who was sent by Abraham to find a bride for his son Isaac when describing who a shalach is. What Eliezer did was as if Abraham had done it. What Eliezer said was as if Abraham had said it. The gifts Eliezer gave were as if Abraham had given them and the decisions Eliezer made were as if Abraham had made them. Was he Abraham? No, and yes. He was his sent one, Abraham’s shalach.

For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of Yehovah, and Yehovah has sent us [shalachim, plural of shalach] to destroy it.” (Gen 19:13)

Moses too was sent by Yehovah. Listen to what Yehovah tells Moses about Aaron and then Pharaoh.

So the anger of Yehovah was kindled against Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as Elohim. (Exo_4:14-16)

So Yehovah said to Moses: “See, I have made you as Elohim to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send Israel’s seed out of his land. (Exo 7:1-2)

Who Were Yehovah’s The Two Witnesses?

I’m going to suggest to you that Abraham and Lot both knew these men. Both of them recognized them from a distance, came to them, bowed down to them and called them “my master” or “adoni.” Who would Yehovah use to represent Him on the earth at this time and who would both Abraham and Lot trust without question? There is only one man, and his name is Shem. We saw in Genesis 14 that he was the melchi-zedek (the righteous’ king) and also, as we saw in Yasher the adoni-zedek (the righteous’ master). Noah [who died when Abram was 58] and Shem raised Abraham and taught him the ways of Yehovah for 39 of his first 49 years. Would it make sense that the three men who first came to Abraham were Shem, Eber and one other? Would it make sense that both Abraham and Lot would run to them,  bow down with their faces to the ground and call him (Shem, the leader of the three) adoni (my master) when they greet him? Shem was the one who was carrying the same “Rod of Elohim” that Moses is going to carry in the future. Do Abraham and Shem greet every passerby this way?

The Two Witnesses Have To Be Men Who Are Mature In Understanding Yehovah’s Word

Only Shem and Eber fit the bill for the destruction of Sodom. But Sodom is just a shadow picture of the main event, which is the destruction of the earth for the second time. Who will Yehovah use this next time to represent Him? Men who are still thinking in terms of “the children of Israel” and don’t know who the Ezrach or the Ger (who dwell with them) are? Men who have never learned Yehovah’s created purpose for ‘the man’ and the man’s woman? Men who have never left the kingdom of their birth and who teach men to obey “the law of the land”? Or men who are still teaching others to keep a Seder, a foot-washing ceremony, or communion service instead of a real Exodus 12 celebration?

No, the two witnesses whom Yehovah will use in the future to represent Him on the earth will be Ezrach men who teach other men to leave the kingdoms of their birth and then, at Passover, come into covenant / cutting with Yehovah.

I still have much to say on this subject, but you will have to listen to the video to find out more.

Abram Taught Men To Follow Yehovah

Abram taught menWe finished Genesis 12 and Yasher 13 this week in our Sabbath class; and as we have seen all along, it is the Yasher (upright) men of Yehovah who taught ‘ha·a·dam’ seed (men), just like Abram taught men to know and follow only Yehovah. A man of Elohim teaches women, if they teach them at all, to follow only their man.

Abram is only mentioned once in Torah before he leaves Haran for Canaan, for what seems to be the 1st time. Here is the fist time he is mentioned, at the end of Genesis 11.

And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s woman, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there. (Gen 11:31)

In my mind, before I read Yasher,  I saw 3 men and 1 woman (Torah does not even mention Nahor and his woman Milcah) leaving Ur with Terah.

The second time Abram is mentioned is when he leaves Haran for Canaan with Sarai and Lot and the people whom they had acquired in Haran. They? Who is they? And why does it not say “he”? Is it possible that Lot “went with” Abram, but he really did not “follow” Abram at that time?

So Abram departed as Yehovah had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Then Abram took Sarai his woman and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. (Gen 12:4-5)

It is just 3 years later (Abram is 78) that Lot (and his family) were taken captive by the 4 kings (Nimrod/Amraphel was one of them) who came out of the north with 800,000 men;  and Abram rallied “318 trained young men who were born in his own house” to kill 799,996 of those men.

Now when Abram heard that his brother [kindred] was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained young men who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. (Gen 14:14)

318 young men born in his own house? And these are just the trained ones? Where did they all come from? And how can so few destroy so many? That is 2,516/1 odds. Yikes!

The answer to these questions is found in the book of Yasher; it gives us the rest of the story and makes sense out of Torah.

Abram Taught Men To Serve Yehovah

Abram lived in the home of Noah for 39 years. When he was 50 he left there and went back to see his father (Terah), who was the head of Nimrod’s host for over 50 years in Babylon. At his father’s house he broke all his idols and was brought before Nimrod and then thrown into Nimrod’s fiery furnace with his brother Haran (a “fence-sitter,” just like so many men today). Haran died, but Abram walked in the fire for 3 days in the sight of almost a million men, all the people of the land. The ladies and children watched from a distance.

Afterword Abram received great honor and riches from Nimrod, and 300 men (with their families) became Abram’s servants.

Yasher 12:41 And Abram went forth from the king in peace, and many of the king’s servants followed him, and about three hundred men joined him.
42 And Abram returned on that day and went to his father’s house, he and the men that followed him, and Abram served Yehovah, his Elohim [not Nimrod] all the days of his life, and he walked in His ways and followed His law.
43 And from that day forward Abram inclined the hearts of ‘ha·a·dam’ seed to serve Yehovah.

Two years later Terah, Abram, Lot and their women and their servants left Ur for Canaan, but only came as far as Haran. To my surprise, Nahor and Milcah did not go with them at that time; they must have been still dwelling in Babylon.

Yasher 13:1 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s woman, and all the souls of his household and went with them from Ur Casdim to go to the land of Canaan. And when they came as far as the land of Haran they remained there, for it was exceedingly good land for pasture, and of sufficient extent for those who accompanied them.

Please remember that Terah was a VERY wealthy man with many servants, and so were his sons (Haran and Nahor). When Haran died Lot would have inherited all that Haran had (including all his servants). I would guess, that when these men left Ur, that there were well over 400 men (many with families) who went with them. Abram is only 52 at this point.

When they reached Haran some (no number given) of the people of that land (men) joined themselves to Abram in the next 3 years.

Yasher 13:2 And the people of the land of Haran saw that Abram was good and upright with Elohim and men, and that Yehovah, his Elohim was with him, and some of the people of the land of Haran came and joined Abram, and he taught them the instruction of Yehovah and His ways; and these men remained with Abram in his house and they adhered to him.

Abram remained in Haran for 3 years before he left for Canaan the 1st time at 55, and he remained in Canaan for 15 years. How many men were born within his gates while he was in Babylon for 2 years, Haran for 3 years, Canaan for 15 years and now in Haran for the next 5 years?

At 70 Abram returned to his father and mother in Haran for 5 years. During that time 72 more men (with their families) joined Abram.

Yasher 13:20 At that time Abram returned and went to Haran to see his father and mother, and his father’s household, and Abram and his woman and all belonging to him returned to Haran, and Abram dwelt in Haran five years.
21 And many of the people of Haran, about seventy-two men, followed Abram and Abram taught them the instruction of Yehovah and his ways, and he taught them to know Yehovah.

When we pick up the story of Abram leaving Haran at 75 in Genesis 12, this time with Lot, we can finally begin to understand that Abram’s gates, a mobile tent city, was in excess of 1000 souls (nephesh) and perhaps as many as 600 men.

So now, “318 trained men born in Abram’s own house” begins to make more sense. All of these men, who have all left the kingdoms of their birth and joined Abram, are now spiritual men under Abram’s authority and dwelling in Yehovah’s kingdom on earth. And as Yehovah promised Abram…

I will bless those who bless thee, and I will curse him who curses thee; and in thee all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Gen 12:3)

The 800,000 men, ‘ha·a·Dam’s’ seed, a.k.a. belial’s seed who took Lot and his family,  never had a chance! And that is exactly how it will be when Yehovah raises up His spiritual men, all over the earth, in the latter days.

Please join me as we go through these chapters together.

Abram Before Nimrod (Elohim and Images)

Nimrod (king of Babylon) and Terah (Abram’s father and captain of Nimrod’s host) were the first to put images (they called them “gods”) of wood and stone in their homes; and they taught all of ha·a·dam’s seed (men) to do the same.

Yasher 9:7 And the king and all his servants, and Terah with all his household were then the first of those that served gods of wood and stone.

See that? It says “gods” of wood and stone. Why would Nimrod, the king of the whole earth at this time, get men (I did say men) interested in serving “Gods” of wood and stone? I think it is a “bait and switch” by the main el (lawmaker and judge) of the land to keep men in the dark and confused as to whom they actually do serve; they all fear and serve King Nimrod. By distracting men with their images/idols, they keep men from serving only Yehovah. A man can not serve both Yehovah and Nimrod, and Nimrod knows that.

The very fact that these idols are being called “Gods” and not “images” is revealing.

One of the false images in the mind of many people is the distinction between what an “elohim” is
and what an “image” is; confusion over Yehovah’s 1st commandment and His 2nd. Many people think they are not serving other elohim because they think an elohim is an idol or image; when in fact, an elohim is the one (or ones) you fear and serve.

Most governments on the earth will give you freedom of “religion” as long as you keep serving them; and this too, is the “bait and switch”. Think about it. Do any of the religions of the earth tell a man to leave the kingdom of his birth and follow only the Creator of all things? Only Yehovah demands complete loyalty. Christianity will have you believe that you give “the LORD” service by obeying the “law of the land” and its elohim (lawmakers and judges). AUGH!

abram before nimrodThe first two imperatives which Yehovah spoke to each one of His called out men at Sinai, those who came into covenant with Him at Passover, was:

“I am Yehovah, thy Elohim, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shall have no other elohim existing before My face.” (Exo 20:2-3)

“Thou shall not make for thyself  images [not Elohim] or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above [the stars, the sun, the planets or the moon], or that is on the earth beneath [beneath the heavens], or that is in the water under the earth; thou shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, Yehovah, thy Elohim, am a jealous Elohim … (Exo 20:4-5)

Yehovah’s real people are men who serve only Him, spirit Elohim; an Elohim that nobody has ever seen. If a man bows down to, or worships, or serves any created thing (past or present), he will not be numbered among Yehovah’s people.

Can we create an image, or perhaps a false image in our mind, that replaces Yehovah? This is what Nimrod was doing and this is what all the kingdoms in the earth are doing right now. Nothing has changed!

Terah, a Shemite and the father of Abram was the head of Nimrod’s host for more than 50 years. When Abram came back to his house (after living in a cave for 10 years and in the home of Noah and Shem for 39 years) the first thing he saw was his father’s “Gods”, and he swore by Yehovah that in three days he would break all these images.

Yasher 11:17 And Abram said, As Yehovah liveth these images shall not remain in my father’s house; so shall Yehovah who created me do unto me if in three days’ time I do not break them all.

And when he did break them all, Terah was so angry that he told his Elohim (his lawmaker and judge), King Nimrod what had happened.

Yasher 11:51 And he said, I beseech thee my master [adoni], to hear me. Now fifty years back a child was born to me, and thus has he done to my gods and thus has he spoken; and now therefore, my master and king, send for him that he may come before thee, and judge him according to the law, that we may be delivered from his evil.

Abram before Nimrod

When Abram was brought before Nimrod he told him the same story that he told his father. “The large god broke all the others because he was jealous.”

Yasher 11:53 And the king said to Abram, What is this that thou hast done to thy father and to his gods? And Abram answered the king in the words that he spoke to his father, and he said, The large god that was with them in the house did to them what thou hast heard.

Listen to Nimrod’s very revealing response to Abram.

Yasher 11:54 And the king said to Abram, Had they power to speak and eat and do as thou hast said?

He knew the truth, and Abram calls him on his hypocrisy.

Yasher 11:54 … And Abram answered the king, saying, And if there be no power in them why dost thou serve them and cause ha·a·dam’s seed to err through thy follies?
55 Dost thou imagine that they can deliver thee or do anything small or great, that thou should serve them? And why wilt thou not sense the Elohim of the whole universe, who created thee and in whose power it is to kill and keep alive?
56 0 foolish, simple, and ignorant king, woe unto thee forever.

Well, those are real fighting words. Wait until you see what happens to Abram, as Nimrod and all His people find out who really does have the power of life and death. This lesson is very important for all men (and their woman) today who hope to live through the fire of the last days.

Yehovah is even now raising up Abram’s seed in the earth who will destroy all its Nimrodian kingdoms in the future.

Please join me as I talk about these very important chapters.

The light of Elohim begins to shine in the midst of a very dark world. The 70 nations are now gathered with Nimrod (and his princes) at the helm. They are leading all of ha-a-dam’s seed into ways they should not go. It is in this context that the light of Yehovah is raised for all to see in the life of Abram who, we will see in future lessons, warns Nimrod to turn from his wicked ways.

And they [Nimrod and his princes] said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (Gen 11:4)

Yasher 8:21 And all the princes of Nimrod and his great men took counsel together; Phut, Mitzraim, Cush and Canaan with their families, and they said to each other, Come let us build ourselves a city and in it a strong tower, and its top reaching heaven, and we will make ourselves famed, so that we may reign upon the whole world, in order that the evil of our enemies may cease from us, that we may reign mightily over them, and that we may not become scattered over the earth on account of their wars.

These wicked men, Ham’s seed, are rebelling against every thing that Yehovah has commanded them.

So Elohim blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. (Gen 9:1)

We are still building Nimrodian kingdoms for ourselves, and establishing our own statutes, and ordinances and judgments; nothing has changed! Yehovah saw what was happening in Babylon and divided the people, the men (with their families), all over the face of the earth. We can read this story in the first part of Genesis 11.

The remainder of this chapter is all about the genealogy of Shem through Abram. It is in this context, of the rebellion of ha-a-dam’s seed, in which Yehovah brings great light in into our very dark world through his current Melchizedek, Shem.

The Melchizedek, the highest ranking member in Yehovah’s kingdom on the earth, who came from the line of Seth, and then the line of Shem after the flood. Each Melchizedek had the rod of Elohim passed down to him by the previous Melchizedek. It went from Adam, to Enoch, to Methuselah, to Noah, to Shem, to Abraham, to Jacob, to Joseph, and finally it came to Moses just before he brought Yehovah’s people out of the land of Egypt. Yehovah’s Servants (6) – Redeemed From Among Men

The number “144,000” comes from the NT commentaries, NOT Yehovah’s eternal and unchanging word; and because of that, it is not a number that I am going to “hang my hat on.” But Yehovah is, even now, raising up a people (men) who will serve only Him in these last days, just as He said He would.

[Note: This series is best understood from the beginning; here is Part 1.]

redeemed from among menAnd who is like Thy people, like Israel, the one nation on the earth whom Elohim [the lawmaker and judge] went to redeem for Himself as a people, to make for Himself a name—and to do for thyself great and awesome deeds for thy land—before thy people whom Thou redeemed for thyself from Egypt, the nations, and their elohim? For Thou have made Thy people, Israel thy very own people forever; and Thou, Yehovah, have become their Elohim. (2Sa 7:23-24)

But now, thus says Yehovah, who created thee, O Jacob [flesh birth], and He who formed thee, O Israel [spiritual birth]: “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee; I have called thee by thy name; thou are Mine. When thou pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. When thou walk through the fire, thou shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch thee. For I am Yehovah, thy Elohim, the Holy One of Israel, thy savior; I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in thy place. Since thou are precious in My sight, thou has been honored, and I have loved thee; therefore I will give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not, for I am with thee; I will bring thy descendants [seed, spiritual men] from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters [a woman is a daughter if she is bone of her man’s bone] from the ends of the earth—everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” (Isa 43:1-7)

Oh, give thanks to Yehovah, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of Yehovah say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy [other men – belial’s seed], and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to Yehovah in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses; and He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to an encampment for a dwelling place. (Psa 107:1-7)

These “servants” of Yehovah in Jeremiah 23 are called by many names; the banner, the branch of righteousness, his arm, the male-child, the Ezrach man, Israel’s seed, the watchmen, a people great and strong, and a wild ox, just to name a few. This people is true Israel, the men Yehovah is raising up to be His shalachim, His sent ones, in the coming last days. And these are the men who are redeemed from among men. I talk about all these names in my video called the “144,000 in the scriptures.”

But what does it mean to be “redeemed from among men,” and how and when does it happen?

The word redeemed is the Hebrew word ga·al’ [גאל]; and a man is redeemed by his near of kin.

H1350    גַּאל    gā’al: A verb meaning to redeem or act as a kinsman-redeemer. The word means to act as a redeemer for a deceased kinsman (Rth_3:13); to redeem or buy back from bondage (Lev_25:48)

Yehovah told Moses, to tell pharaoh, to “let Israel, My son, My firstborn go that he may serve  me.” And through Isaiah He says,

For thus says Yehovah: “You have sold yourselves for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.” (Isa_52:3)

Right now we (men) can leave our Egypt freely and choose to serve only Yehovah; and then, at Passover, become Yehovah’s spiritual seed (His son) and the first-fruits of His spiritual kingdom.

They sang, as it were, a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. (4) These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes Yehovah. These were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim. and to the Lamb. (Rev 14:3-4)

[Note: You will have to read part 5 of this series to understand my very purposeful strike-outs above.]

All Israel’s first-fruits and those males who open the womb (the matrix) always belong to Yehovah. We bring the first-fruits and our first-born to Yehovah because He is the one who gives us the increase of our body, our animals, and the things that come from the ground (which he also gave to us). It is during Shavuot that we bring the first-fruits of the wheat harvest to wave before Yehovah; and it will be on Shavuot that Yehovah seals and sets-apart those shepherds who are redeemed from among men for His purpose.

All men come from the dust and they all will also return to the dust.

In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” (Gen 3:19)

All flesh would perish together, and man would return to dust. (Job 34:15)

You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. (Psa 104:29)

All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. (Ecc 3:20)

But these servants are like Noah, wholly righteous men (enoshim); and, like him, they too will be coming through the last days of our world alive. And more, they will be “the great ones” in the millennial kingdom and the rulers, the el, over each of their gates.

I have a hunch that all these spiritually born men, true Ezrach Israel, the virgin,  those who separated themselves from the world in order to wholly follow Yehovah in all His ways, may never die. Their women, their children and perhaps even their servants who come through  the destruction of the earth with them may eventually perish in the new world. But is it possible that these spiritual men, selected and set-apart by Yehovah to be redeemed from the earth may live for the whole 1000 years?

The way of Yehovah is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity. The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not inhabit the earth. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut out. (Pro 10:29-31)

Behold, the day of Yehovah comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it. (Isa 13:9)

For Yehovah loves justice, and does not forsake His saints (his khaw·seed); they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever. (Psa 37:28-29)

“Gather My saints (My khaw·seed) together to Me, those who have cut a covenant with Me by slaughter.” (Psa 50:5)

Regardless of whether or not they live the whole of the 1000 years, what is important is that they will be renewed in their strength and there will be no week or feeble men among them; regardless of their present age and physical condition.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting Elohim, Yehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. … but those who wait on Yehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isa 40:28-31)

The world will be in awe of these wholly righteous men who speak and act on behalf of Yehovah. Next time I will discuss how these shepherds will carry themselves during Israel’s three and one half years in the wilderness.

The Sons Of Men

It was while I was studying for this week’s Sabbath class on Genesis 5 and its corresponding material in the book of Yasher that I came upon the phrase “the sons of men” which piqued my interest. It was used 5 times in 4 verses.

Yasher 2:1 And it was in the hundred and thirtieth year of the life of Adam the sons of men thumbnailupon the earth, that he again knew Eve his woman, and she conceived and bare a son in his likeness and in his image, and she called his name Seth, saying, because Elohim has appointed me another seed in the place of Abel, for Cain has slain him.
2 And Seth lived one hundred and five years, and he begat a son; and Seth called the name of his son Enosh, saying, because in that time the sons of men began to multiply, and to afflict their souls and hearts by transgressing and rebelling against Elohim [the only true lawmaker and judge].
3 And it was in the days of Enosh that the sons of men continued to rebel and transgress against Elohim, to increase the anger of Yehovah against the sons of men.
4 And the sons of men went and they served other elohim, and they forgot Yehovah who had created them in the earth: and in those days the sons of men made images of brass and iron, wood and stone, and they bowed down and served them.
5 And every man made his elohim and bowed down to it, and the sons of men forsook Yehovah all the days of Enosh and his sons; and the anger of Yehovah was kindled on account of their works and abominations which they did in the earth.

Who are these people who are forsaking Yehovah and choosing new elohim (lawmakers and judges) and then, and even worse, making idols and serving them.

That is a violation of both the first and the second commandments, Yehovah’s basic instructions!

“I am Yehovah, thy Elohim, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shall have no other elohim existing before My face.” (Exo 20:2-3)

Thou shall not make for thyself a carved image”any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; thou shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, Yehovah thy Elohim, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. (Exo 20:4-6)

I knew I had seen this phrase many times and decided it would be worthwhile to find out where; this same phrase is used only once in Torah and many times in the tanach.

But Yehovah came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men [be·ni’ ha·a·dam’] had built. (Gen 11:5)

Oh my – be·ni’ ha·a·dam’ is not “the sons of men” it is “‘the man’s’ seed“! And that man is the one whom I wrote about several weeks ago “who became the first of his kind,” AFTER  his fall. It was this man who could not be permitted access to the tree of life because he had become a creation that Yehovah never intended.

Remember: Ha·a·dam’ was created in Yehovah’s likeness and His image; he was Yehovah’s seed which had glory, and honor and immortality. But because of his actions, he became enosh – mortal man. He died a spiritual death that day, and probably did not even know it. And now, instead of being Yehovah’s seed, His kind, he became belial’s seed. And, as we saw in verse 1 above, this new kind of man is now producing other men, other seed, in his image and his likeness (not Yehovah’s)!

But Enosh’s first-born son, Cainan, began to turn “the sons of men” to the “service of Elohim.”

Yasher 2:12 And Cainan knew by his wisdom that Elohim would destroy the sons of men for having sinned upon earth [nothing has changed], and that Yehovah would, in the latter days [the latter days of the antediluvian world] bring upon them the waters of the flood.
13 And in those days Cainan wrote upon tablets of stone, what was to take place in time to come, and he put them in his treasures.
14 And Cainan reigned over the whole earth, and he turned some of the sons of men to the service of God.

Oh, so cool! Cainan treasured the word of The Elohim and turned some of the sons of men (ha·a·dam’ seed) to Yehovah’s service! Now compare this last verse  (14) with what I found in Psalms.

… Help, Yehovah, for the god kind [חסיד, khaw·seed’] ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men [a·dam’ be·ni/seed]. (Psa 12:1)

Both of these verses contrast those involved with Yehovah’s service with “the sons of men.” These two groups of men are diametrically opposed to one another.

I love this word khaw·seed‘. Ha·a·dam’ was created in the image and likeness of Elohim; he was Elohim kind. But after the fall all males, you and I, are born as belial kind (wicked kind who serve other elohim).

But here is the good news of the kingdom; we, belial kind can once again become Elohim kind and once again be transformed into Yehovah’s created image and likeness which has all the glory and honor and Immortality that we were made to walk in.

“Gather to Me My saints [חסידי, my khaw·seed’, literally, “My kind“], who cut a covenant with Me by slaughter [זבח, zavach].” (Psa 50:5)

This covenant, which is cut through slaughter, only happens once a year, and is referring to the Passover slaughter; it is the time that the Ger can become the Ezrach, Elohim kind.

Well, we will talk about this more in my video teaching below. Please join me as I go through this week’s material.
