Spirit Wisdom And The Rod Of His Mouth

spirit wisdomIn My Sabbath class it has taken us 3 years but we finished Deuteronomy this week and will finish the last few pages of the book of  Yasher next time. However, I still plan to go through the first 6 chapters of Joshua before we conclude this series. I want to cover those chapters in Joshua because I believe they help us to see what we can expect in the coming last days.

Just before we, Israel’s seed, began our conquest of the land of Canaan we circumcised all our males and then held a true Passover as  codified in Exodus 12; not a Seder, nor a communion service and certainly not a foot-washing service. We did what Yehovah commanded and then He fought with us.

Moses was the prophet who Yehovah used to bring Israel’s seed (with their families) out of Egypt the 1st time, and He will do it again.

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says Yehovah, “that it shall no more be said, ‘Yehovah lives who brought up Israel’s seed from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘Yehovah lives who brought up Israel’s seed from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ ” (Jer 16:14-15)

But “the prophet like Moses” whom Yehovah will use to deliver those men who want to follow only Yehovah the second time is not a lone man; he is the plural he, Israel, Yehovah’s spiritual seed, His first firstborn. He is the nation who will be born in a day sometime in the near future. (Every year the men who comprise this nation grow, and it is just a matter of time before Yehovah has all the Ezrach he needs to deliver His people from their bondage.)

This week we saw that Joshua took the place of Moses because Moses disobeyed Yehovah and “hit” the rock with Yehovah’s rod, instead of “speaking to it.” I think this miracle was to be performed by Moses’ lips alone because Yehovah was setting up a shadow picture of the 2nd great Exodus and He does not have a rod for each one of His set-apart men in the last days.

At the end of Torah Joshua took over where Moses left off and it says that spirit wisdom was on him.

Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of spirit wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so Israel’s seed heeded him, and did as Yehovah had commanded Moses. But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom Yehovah knew face to face, in all the signs and wonders which Yehovah sent him to do in the land of Egypt, before Pharaoh, before all his servants, and in all his land, and by all that mighty power and all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel. (Deu 34:9-12)

It appears to me that Joshua lacked the ability to talk to Yehovah face to face. The prophets like Moses who Yehovah is each Passover raising up will speak to Yehovah face to face because they have made “knowing Him” their sole ambition. We talked at length about how this last part Deuteronomy, this summation of Torah, relates to Isaiah 11 which describes the prophet like Moses whom Yehovah is raising up in the last days. Men who have spirit wisdom and wield “the rod” of their mouth.

Spirit Yehovah shall rest upon Him, spirit wisdom and understanding, spirit counsel and might, spirit knowledge and of fear of Yehovah. His delight is in the fear of Yehovah, and he shall not judge by the sight of his eyes, nor decide by the hearing of his ears; but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. (Isa 11:2-4)

Yehovah is described as spirit Elohim in Genesis 1 and it is this spirit which will rest upon all of His servants (men) in the coming last days. I wrote a series of articles about knowledge, understanding and wisdom and found it interesting that those 3 were here also; but what impressed me most was the foundation for it all. What is the foundation? The fear of Yehovah! And truly the fear of Yehovah IS the beginning of spirit wisdom.

The Spiritual Son Is Born

the spiritual son is born
Abraham is now 99 years old. The messengers of Yehovah came to him on the moed (the Time of Life / the Passover) to tell him that Sarah is going to bear a son at the Time of Life the following year. Abraham has been told by Yehovah several times that he is going to be the father of many nations. Twelve months and counting until the spiritual son (who is a shadow picture of all Yehovah’s spiritual sons, His ezrach who are born a second time at the Passover each year) is born.

But Abraham has this spring gone to Gerar, to the kingdom of the Philistines and their king, Abimelech. When he gets there he begins to fear for his life and commands Sarah to say that she is his sister, instead of his wife. She really is his niece, the daughter of Haran who is Abraham’s brother. Yes – he lied!

THIS, is the climax of the story, the time that Sarah must be impregnated by Abraham to bear the spiritual son and she has just been given to Abimelech as HIS wife. Augh!

What Yehovah does to deliver Sarah and restore her to Abraham is an amazing story, especially in Yasher; and in Genesis 20 the discerning eye will see that much is missed in the English translations of the Hebrew scriptures.

What Yehovah says, Yehovah does! And in the 4th month Yehovah visited Sarah and she bore the spiritual son, Isaac, at the set time, the moed, as Elohim (Abraham’s lawmaker and judge) had spoken.

And Yehovah visited Sarah as He had said, and Yehovah did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which Elohim had spoken to him. (Gen 21:1-2)

Yasher 21:1 And in the fourth month of Abraham’s dwelling in the land of the Philistines in Gerar, that Elohim visited Sarah, and Yehovah remembered her, and she conceived and bare a son to Abraham.

Genesis 21 tells the story of the great feast which Abraham gave when Isaac was weaned but we have no clue in Torah as to how great a feast this was. Yasher fills in these details marvelously!

Killing Of Wild Game In Torah

After writing the first 8 articles on how Yehovah’s son, the Ezrach is to properly slaughter, eat and dispose of any animals eaten from the herd (cattle) or flock (sheep and goats) as commanded in Leviticus 3, 7 and 17; it seems appropriate that I also address the killing of wild game (deer, elk, moose, etc.) and birds (chicken, turkey, etc.) as described in Leviticus 17 as well.

Most folks, those who have any exposure to the Hebrew roots of the faith which all of Yehovah’s great men have lived and taught, are aware of what clean 4-footed animals and clean birds are available for His people to eat. But very few are aware of how they are to be killed, and by whom. Yehovah’s instructions in Leviticus 17 are brief.

wild game and birds“And any man [eesh, eesh] of Israel’s seed [they are the Ezrach in Yehovah’s kingdom], or the Stranger [the Ger] who dwells among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust; for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. Therefore I said to Israel’s seed, ‘You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.’ (Lev 17:13-14)

Again, as it was with the beef, sheep and goat, it is the “man man” or “any man” who kills the animals; not a woman. But, in this case wild 4-footed animals (as opposed to domestic animals which are slaughtered to Yehovah by only His son) and birds can be killed by both the Ezrach and the Ger who dwells with them.

Notice: There is no provision here for a Gentile to kill meat and sell this (already been killed) meat to the Ezrach or to the Ger.

There are two things that troubled me about the meat I was previously buying from the market. The first, and most obvious is, I did not kill it! But the second issue for me requires a bit longer explanation.

Meat sacrificed to idols – 4

Leviticus chapter 17 has 5 statutes that Yehovah gives His son, Israel concerning how they are to treat their clean meat.

The first statute is the one that discusses “meat sacrificed to idols” and it is something that every beef, goat and lamb eater is participating in and is something that will get us cut out from among Yehovah’s people. Keep in mind, we are not talking about meat sacrificed to idols, we are talking about meat that is slaughtered for our food; the “idols” portion is more about how the animal is killed, who kills it and whose statutes were followed in that process.

This is the part four in this “Meat sacrificed to idols” series. Please read the preceding 3 before continuing with this installment.

Part 1 – Introduction

Part 2 – “Sacrifice” is translated from the Hebrew word zevach, and a zevach is always eaten by the man that kills it.

Part 3 – Not eating “meat sacrificed to idols” is the first of the minimum requirements commanded by James for those gerim who were joining themselves to Israel.

Meat sacrificed to idols (Leviticus 17) – 3

Leviticus 17 & Acts 15It is my observation that when people turn to what many call the Hebrew roots of the faith which Yeshua lived and taught; that we limit our new-found faith to changing just three or four areas of our life and never really come out of the world.

We stop keeping Christmas, Easter, and a few other holidays. We start to learn and do Yehovah’s holy days, as best we can with the poor information we have been given. We start learning to keep the Sabbath holy. And lastly, we learn what meat are clean (tahor) and unclean (tamei).

That is about it. We treat Yehovah’s word given through Moses like a smorgasbord; “I’ll have some of that 4th commandment, oh, and I’d like some Leviticus chapter 11 and some of chapter 23. But I think I’ll pass on the rest, it does not fit my lifestyle very well.” For most, it seems that doing these three things is enough for them to “think” they have now satisfied Yehovah’s requirements.

We forget (or just do not know) that there are many things in Torah that we (especially men) can do, or fail to do, that will get us kicked out from among Yehovah’s people, Israel. But how can we get kicked out of a holy nation that we have never joined? The most important thing that I teach is kingdom; we can not have a covenant with President Obama, the US GOVERNMENT, the STATE, or any other lawmaker or judge and be still be numbered among Yehovah’s people. He only has 2 kinds of men in His kingdom; the Ezrach (the spiritually born, native of the land) and the Ger (the stranger who dwells with him). There are no Gentiles in Yehovah’s kingdom. Once the Gentile finally leaves the kingdom and the elohim (the lawmakers and judges) of his birth and joins himself (and his family) to only Yehovah and His people, he then becomes a Ger and a citizen of Israel. We can only serve one master. That is what the 1st commandment is all about.

Thou shall have no other elohim existing before my face. (Exodus 20:3)

Jacob Dwelt In Heaven

We are looking at the contrast that Torah gives between the two brothers Esau and Jacob. Esau dwelt on earth and Jacob dwelt in heaven.

So the boys grew. And Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man dwelling in tents. (Gen 25:27)

In part 1 of this 2 part series we saw that Esau was a man who lived by his senses, especially his eyes, but also a man who learned from his life experiences; he was a man of the flesh who lived like all animals do. His decisions about living were based on what seemed right for him.  But Jacob was not a “mild, plain, peaceful or quiet” man as most translations make him out to be. Jacob was a complete, mature, whole, upright and perfect man who shunned evil and feared Elohim. He learned the ways of Yehovah from his family; Isaac, Abraham, Eber and Shem. Abraham lived for 39 years in the home of Noah and Shem; he knew Yehovah and His ways.

Jasher 9:6 And Abram was in Noah’s house thirty-nine years, and Abram knew Yehovah from three years old, and he went in the ways of Yehovah until the day of his death, as Noah and his son Shem had taught him… .

Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” (Gen 26:5)

Jacob was just like his father and his father’s father, a man who learned, loved and lived righteousness.

Today we are going to find out where these two contrasting men choose to dwell. Continue reading Jacob Dwelt In Heaven
