Getting Started

Getting started, Getting Started in the faith of Abraham, esword. e-sword free bibble software, new to Torah, New to Hebrew roosNew to Hebrew roots and just getting started in the faith that Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and all those who served only the Creator lived and taught? Here is series of eight articles and videos designed to teach people how to study and understand Yehovah’s (the LORD’s) word for themselves.

We have all been trained to walk on the broad road; we have gone to broad road schools, watched broad road TV, listened to broad road radio and read broad road newspapers. We have become civilized according to the doctrines and commandments and traditions of men and have never learned the ways of Yehovah. Now is the time to repent, join ourselves to Yehovah’s people, True Israel and begin our walk on the narrow road, which is “The Way of Life.”

Getting Started With Free Materials

The first thing everyone needs as they are getting started is a great Bible study program  e-Sword is Free and very powerful. You MUST have it and learn to use it if you want to learn to be holy as Yehovah is holy.

For me, it really helps to have visual aids; and by getting more of my senses involved I retain what I am learning so much better. Every serious student of Yehovah’s word needs this free Bible Mapper 3 program and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Getting Started With Deeper Understanding

Now we must find out who this “Church,” this ecclesia, this “called out” people of Yehovah God are. To do this, please read Defining the Church.

Yeshua said we are to love Yehovah with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind and with all our strength. Loving Yehovah God 101 will describe what that admonition really means. Oh I wish I had learned this information when I was a young man, it would have changed my life.

Next, in order to move ahead we must learn the Precepts of the Word. They are the firm and unchanging foundations of the faith that Yeshua lived and taught.

Getting Started In Learning Torah Weekly

For 5 years  we have gathered together each week in our on-line conference room with others who love Yehovah’s word. During that time we went through the Torah (Genesis – Deuteronomy) verse by verse two times. As we did this, we gained both knowledge and understanding concerning Yehovah eternal and unchanging ways and saw more clearly what the good news of Yehovah’s kingdom is all about. These lessons are all recorded and available for your viewing or download. To begin a deeper study of Yehovah’s word, please visit our Journey Through Torah page.

Getting Started Toward The 2nd Birth

Finally, Yeshua told Nicodemus “You must be Born Again.” But what does it mean to be “Born Again”? We all have our own religious and traditional ideas; but what is its scriptural basis? We know that its roots must come from the law and the prophets, since Yeshua rebuked Nicodemus for being a teacher of Israel and not understanding this second birth. Many claim they are “born again” but have no clue as to what they are born into or how. The Process of Becoming Born Again is described here!

    1. Dear Kunen. my fellow seeker of Yehovah and His eternal and unchanging ways. Thank you for your comment. These are the things I too asked for years but was unable to get satisfactory answers. It was these kinds of questions which started me on a very wonderful journey.

It is really not about any particular church or denomination (Church of God, Baptist, Assembly of God, Catholicism, etc.); so your question works well for all who might ask the same questions. The Creator of all things only has one people, their name is Israel. This is what the good news that Yeshua (Jesus) taught was all about. Repent and join yourself to His people.

Now after John was put in prison, Yeshua came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. REPENT, and believe in the gospel [the good new of Yehovah’s kingdom].” (Mar 1:14-15)

Before we repented we were not keeping the ways which leads to life, but now we are going to begin to learn and do them.

For the commandment is a lamp, and the Torah (Law) a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life, (Pro 6:23)

There are no Gentiles in Yehovah’s kingdom. When a Gentile repents, leaves the kingdom of His birth and joins himself to a new king and people (all who follow ONLY Yehovah), they are no longer a Gentile but now a citizen of Israel. This man begins his sojourn in Israel as a ger and later will become, as one born in the land, an ezrach.

One law shall be for the native-born (Ezrach) and for the stranger (ger) who dwells among you.” (Exo 12:49)

The headquarters for this man is the same place in which he now dwells, Heaven.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which THEY HAD COME OUT, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a HEAVENLY COUNTRY. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. (Heb 11:13-16)

There is much here on my blog that will aid you as you journey more completely into Yehovah’s will and ways and I will do my best to aid you where I can.

Yehovah bless you as you serve Him only as He pleases!

      Michael

  11. You have contributed to my understanding, Michael, as we look through the glass dimly, We MANNA FEAST more and more.

  12. I heard about your ministry by a man named Joe while working at the Christian Bookstore in Bremerton, WA.

    1. Can you point me to articles that concern women, their place in worship and in the plan of YHWH. From some of what I heard, it sounds like women aren’t thought of very highly.

    2. Do you teach Torah only or do you teach the entire Tanach?

    1. Bless your heart Ruth, or perhaps Ruthey (I like that ), for spending some time on my blog this am. Bremerton, Washington, we are practically neighbors.

Joe, bless his heart, is pretty new to the ways of Torah (the 5 books of the Bible which Yehovah spoke to His sons (not the Egyptians) through Moses. The prophets, both major and minor (major and minor for size not quality) are also Yehovah words given through His set-apart men. The rest of the Tanach is history, poetry, “wisdom” books, etc. which provide lots or examples of Torah principles in action; so I use many examples from those books in my teaching also. Saying “women aren’t thought of very highly”, is not wording that I would use. A “woman of worth” for instance is precious and highly sought after, but, very hard to find.

One thing that has hit me over and over the past 5 or 6 years is that “woman are not men.” I know, you are probably saying, “Duh!” but what I mean is men and women were created to have different duties and responsibilities.

All the articles about women on my blog can be found by hovering over the “Creation of woman” tab which is in the left hand column of each page. There you will find about 3 dozen articles.

If you have questions, PLEASE do not hesitate to call of write.

In His service now, and always,

      Michael

  13. I have seen pictures of women wearing the tallit on some Messianic websites. I have also been told that girls receive a tallit on their bat-mitzahs For some reason I find that unsettling and that they are usurping the man’s role. I was raised in a Christian home and we followed the teachings of the Bible as closely as we knew how.

Can you explain the symbolism and use of the tallit? Or have you already and I missed it somehow.

Also – Who does a woman go to with questions, like in my situation. My husband is happy in his Christian faith and lets me study and learn and then we discuss what I learn. There are so many different versions of faith around me and each one says they are the right one. My problem is after attending services at the various churches for a while I hear things that don’t line up with scripture and then I am back to studying on my own again. It’s really frustrating but I refuse to sit under man’s traditions rather than God’s word.

    1. Good for you Ruth! You have eyes that want to see. There are no tallits bat-mitzahs or even ben-mitzahs (for that matter) in Torah; so much of what people think is in Torah, is actually brought to us by the doctrines and traditions brought and taught to us by Judaism. Safety for a man is found in following only Torah, and safety for a woman is found in following only her man. This is why I warn folks about these “Messianic” gatherings. http://weareisrael.org/getting-started/messianic-is-that-good/

There is no reason that a woman can not get her man’s permission to learn and do some of Yehovah’s ways also, but please keep in mind that your man’s desires, dreams, ambitions and goals are your first priority.

      Shalom to you Ruth!

      Michael

  14. Greetings from Kenya ,
It has been one of the most exciting and thrilling experiences of my life. Not only they have taught me many things but also the knowledge has arrived in a very important stage of my life when I am reading and understanding things that I have never come across in before, they brought new perspectives and new understandings.
My humble request is please walk me through via coaching and teaching me more of the word of God so that I can have more knowledge to preach this gospel to my fellow folks in my community and entire Kenya as whole.
    Glad to hear from you,
    Polycap

    1. Hello Polycap, my new Kenyan friend,

You must study my blog if you want to learn from me. I also have 3 years worth of my weekly Torah teachings on my there and on YouTube. Those videos alone represent over 300 hours of teaching. http://weareisrael.org/journey-through-torah/

Many have requested one on one discipleship but that is just not practical. That is why I created this blog, however I am always available for questions.

In Yehovah’s service today and always,

      Michael

  15. Greetings in Christ.

So I have been looking around your website and I just found you on youtube. I’m wondering if you’re doing anymore youtube videos? It’s been alittle over 7 years I believe. Regardless I think you should do an article about the book of enoch or talk about what’s going on in today’s world. Our Father Yehovah would want us to stay perceiving through all of this.

    1. Thank you for the encouragement to create more videos Angel. Life has picked up greatly for me and making videos (really, editing videos) takes many hours. I still teach every Sabbath online and would be pleased to have you join us. Here is the link to our Sabbath classes. We are currently finishing 2 Kings and will soon begin going through Torah, verse by verse, for the third time.
