What is this gospel, this “good news” that Jesus (Yeshua) is talking about anyway? Few people truly understand that the “gospel of Yeshua,” is in reality, “the gospel belonging to Yeshua” or, “Yeshua’s gospel.” So what was Yeshua’s good news?
This Is The Good News – Yehovah Reigns!
Now after John was put in prison, Jesus (Yeshua) came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God (Elohim), and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of Elohim is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mar 1:14-15)
And Yeshua went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. (Mat 4:23)
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Mat 24:14)
Clearly, the gospel which Yeshua proclaimed is the good news about God’s (Yehovah’s) wonderful kingdom! Yeshua said, “repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.“ We must repent from following the ways of men, their statutes, their judgments, and their ordinances and begin to learn, do and teach the statutes, judgments, and ordinances of our wonderful Father in heaven. The good news has not changed throughout the ages, it is the same good news that the man on the mountain top with the good-looking feet proclaimed, and still proclaims!
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your Elohim reigns!” (Isa 52:7)
No Elohim But Yehovah
A lawmaker makes statutes and a judge make judgments. Does your God (Elohim – THE Lawmaker and Judge), Yehovah, reign over you exclusively; or do you have other elohim (other lawmakers and judges) who reign over you?
You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am Yehovah your Elohim. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am Yehovah. (Lev 18:4-5)
The first commandment is:
“You shall have no other elohim but Me.” Exodus 20:2
Samuel was so angry and disappointed when Israel asked for a king in order that they might be like the other nations; but Yehovah said to Samuel,
“Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. (1Sa 8:7)
While they were given a king, Yehovah Elohim did require that His king must be anointed by Him, and follow and lead according to Yehovah’s ways all his days. Do we have any kings, rulers, judges over us who are anointed by Yehovah, who do and require that Yehovah’s ways are followed? I have not seen many, er, any!
We have all been indoctrinated in the “broad way!” We attend state regulated schools, watch state regulated TV, listen to state regulated radio, read state regulated newspapers; we have been trained, and civilized, and citified and we think it is good. But we have been led in the way of the masses, which is in fact, the broad way; the way that leads to destruction. In these last days, because public policy is going further and further away from the way which leads to life, we must choose whom we will serve.
“Now therefore, fear Yehovah, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the elohim which your fathers served on the other side of the river and in Egypt. Serve Yehovah! And if it seems evil to you to serve Yehovah, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the elohim which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River (back in Ur), or the elohim of the Amorites (pick your country), in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Yehovah. (Jos 24:14-15)
The choices, which each person on the earth will make, as to whom they will serve in the coming last days, will have profound and eternal significance to each of them; for if we have never learned to serve Yehovah fully we will surely be persuaded to follow the man of sin. It will seem right to us and is what most everyone else will do.
Paul brought the same good news!
For “WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF YEHOVAH SHALL BE SAVED.” How then shall they call on Him (Yehovah) in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, WHO BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. (Rom 10:13-16)
The one who is sent by Yehovah brings the good news about His Kingdom just as Yeshua did; He says, “our Elohim reigns!”
Or he should.
