Anytime I meet someone who has just repented and is now wanting to learn Yehovah’s ways the question always comes up. “Where do I go to learn the Creator’s Eternal and unchanging ways?” It is at this critical juncture that I am always compelled to warn these new believers about anything ‘Messianic.’ Most would like to think that things ‘messianic’ are safe. But this term is not used in the scriptures and it is often used as a code word for those that teach the ways of Judaism, i.e. Messianic Judaism. A blending of to man-made religions.
For example tonight (9/10/10) the new moon was sighted in Jerusalem; and with this sighting, Yom Teruah (the Day of Shouting) and the start of Yehovah’s fall feasts. Unfortunately, too many folks who use the ‘Messianic’ label celebrated Yom Teruah two nights ago and even called it the new year. When did we disengage our brains so badly that we can call the first day of the SEVENTH month the beginning of a new year? For me this kind of irrational thinking was why I stopped spending my time in these kinds of assemblies many years ago.
In Judaism the holidays are in opposition to all of Yehovah’s holy days as observed by the sighting of the new moon each month; and it promotes many thing that are not in the Law or the Prophets (things like Hanuka and Purim . Of course Christianity, for the most part, has ignored these holy days and the rest of Yehovah’s ways all together, and instead has instituted their own holidays.
Read, read, read the Law and the Prophets and learn for yourself Yehovah’s ways. This is the very reason I developed the False Images series. Always be sure that everything that you are taught conforms with the Law and the Prophets; only they are our rock and our sure foundation.
Isaiah 8:20 says, “To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
We must all search the scriptures for ourselves. We can not get rid of our Christian lies and exchange them for the lies taught by Judaism, or worse yet – and what far too many do, join the two.
“Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” (Isa 28:9-10)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yehovah, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says Yehovah, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says Yehovah, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. (Jer 29:11-14
His truths will is found by those who diligently seek to know him.
Thank you Michael,
There was so much confusion over what I was hearing in the Messianic teachings, and I DO know that God is NOT the author of confusion! I do believe that if we seek Gods TRUTH with all our hearts, that He WILL make a way for us to find it. Attitude has a great deal to do with it. Humbling ourselves is not an option. It’s a command. I have seen, and listened to many that are anything BUT humble. Each time, I was convicted that it was not the way of Yeshua. Thank you AGAIN, for bringing the truth to light.
Thank you Michael! I am sending this to some friends, hope it does some good!
I am in total agreement with this blog, I am thankful that we never were involved in any messianic group. At first my husband thought he was the only one that believed this way. We still don’t know many but Yeshua will bring us together in His time and way, praise His name.
For some of us it is a process of coming out. A stage so to speak and a time of learning. When Abba Father calls us out I believe He knows the paths we go on. If we hear His voice and continue to seek His wisdom, He will also bring us through, some faster than others. What perfect love. If it was not so, we would not have needed for Yeshua to come.
I have shared this with 2 others.
Blessings!
By the way, if you can edit this post (which is excellent) you might insert the date that this was written in regard to the new moon sighting. Could cause some confusion by those not familiar with that terminology & the difference in the calendars.
Thanks!
Thanks Diane – I did take your suggestion.
Thank you, Michael
This is why they are called messy-antics.
Shalom Michael thanks for that little teaching. I dont want to be Messianic been to a couple of Messianic Congregations. Your are right. They are Messianic Judaism. When I started on this Journey I went to a Jewish Synagogue trying to find the Truth of the Father. They are pretty much the same. What is funny the Christain are no different and the Catholics and the Protestant’s. See they are all Religion’s and they have all theses tradition’s of man to control the masses. I only listen to the Father and the Ruach. Thanks for sharing. Your Brother David Skellie
Whilst I consider myself Messianic (I am Jewish). However, I have left all the messianic groups because they say anyone under the law is cursed. I try to follow the teachings of YHWH, not the traditions of man.
Good for you Joseph – you will never go wrong by following Yehovah’s ways which were given to us through Moses.
