Peace On Earth?

Peace on earth, christmasPeace on Earth? Christmas is coming, and many of Yehovah’s (the LORD’s) people are concerned about what they should do with this man-made holiday.

Through repentance we begin to turn from our ways to those of those of Yehovah’s eternal and unchanging ways. As we do this we slowly become holy as He is holy, and begin to demonstrate the difference between being part of the world and becoming the set-apart people of Yehovah.

When those whom we are closest to begin to see changes in our heart and thoughts demonstrated by changes also in our actions there is a collision between the ever-changing doctrines and traditions of men (which we have known all our lives) and the keeping of the Creator’s timeless ways.

Peace On Earth?

Yeshua (Jesus), quoting the word of Yehovah given to Micah says:

Peace on Earth?Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” (Luk 12:51-53)

We must be willing to stand up for Yehovah’s ways alone or we will never be part of His family. Yeshua said that those who do the will of his Father were his brothers and sisters and mothers. If we wish to have peace on earth we will be destroyed in the end. But the man who wishes to serve only Yehovah and leave the ways of the world, the man who will lay down his will (his life) and incline his ways to those of the Creator’s heavenly kingdom, will live.

“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says my master, Yehovah, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? (Eze 18:21-23)

Peace On Earth?

The world will always love its own; and hate those who oppose its ways.

Yeshua said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (Joh 15:18-19)

I believe, if we really love someone we will live in such a way that they can see Yehovah’s light shining through us. This decision will bring a sword and will often divide the family, but could this division be part of Yehovah’s chastening of those He loves?

You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so Yehovah your Elohim chastens you. “Therefore you shall keep the commandments of Yehovah your Elohim, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. (Deu 8:5-6)

“Behold, happy is the man whom Elohim corrects; therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. (Job 5:17)

I speak to you as a man who knows this chastening. I lost my family, my wife, my sons, my daughter and all my friends, just before Christmas 2005. I would never have left my family but as Yeshua said “the world will hate you.” Yehovah arranged the affairs of my life so that there was no choice; I had to follow His ways and I could no longer follow my own. Yet because of that most horrific event, my life and the lives of thousands of others will never be the same.

I give all the glory to Him and believe that one day my wayward family will return to Him, and to me. Noah’s wife, Noah’s sons and their wives were all saved from the destruction that fell on the earth because “Noah walked with Elohim.”

But Noah found grace in the eyes of Yehovah. This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with Elohim. (Gen 6:8-9)
