Yehovah, “your Elohim”

your elohimThe English word “God” is one of those words like “sacrifice,” “atonement” and “the children of Israel” which conjures up many false images in our minds and actually perverts our understandings concerning Yehovah’s eternal and unchanging ways. In my blog entitled “Male-child 3 – el of the earth,” I teach that an el-o’-ah (singular of elohim, or God) is the one who creates the laws that we live by. It is the elohim of this world whom we seek permission or license from to build our businesses, homes, and churches, to marry, to educate our children, to hunt, to fish, to drive, and hundreds of other things.

It is for this reason that I have removed the word “God” from my vocabulary and replaced it with the Hebrew word “Elohim” when referring to THE lawmaker and judge (qualitative plural), and the word “elohim” (quantitative plural) when referring to the lawmakers and judges of this world. [Note: You must read the link I left above to understand what an el is, and the difference between the two Hebrew plurals.]

The first commandment Yehovah gave us, Yehovah’s son, Israel, when we left Egypt the first time was;

“I am Yehovah, your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other elohim existing before my face.” (Exo 20:2-3)

Over 300 times in Torah the words “the LORD, your God,” “Yehovah, your Elohim” is used.

“Hear, O Israel: Yehovah, our Elohim, Yehovah is first! You shall love Yehovah, your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. (Deu 6:4-5)

Therefore say to Israel’s son/seed [perversely known as “the children of Israel”] ‘I am Yehovah; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your Elohim. Then you shall know that I am Yehovah, your Elohim who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am Yehovah.’ ” (Exo 6:6-8)

For to me, Israel’s son/seed are servants; they are My servant whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am Yehovah, your Elohim. (Lev 25:55)

I will walk among you and be your Elohim, and you shall be My people. I am Yehovah, your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright. (Lev 26:12-13)

Most people, men and women alike, simply presume that they are the “your” in “your Elohim“. The reason we make this assumption is because we lack knowledge and understanding. Yehovah, through Isaiah, said,

“Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” (Isa 28:9-10)

It was about 15 years ago when I began to see that what many translate as “the children of Israel” (which would include women), was just not possible and had to be “the sons of Israel” because, in part, Yehovah gave His commands to only them, and, the fact that women do not own any land in Yehovah’s kingdom. But it was not long after that I began learning Hebrew and had to again clarify or re-adjust my understandings based on still more knowledge. There was no definite article, “the” in the Hebrew words “beni, Israel”; and what these two words actually say is “Israel’s son/seed.”

No one is included among Yehovah’s people until they leave the elohim (lawmakers and judges) of their birth and make Him their only Elohim. But I am NOT talking about ladies here. In His kingdom there are only two kind of men; the Ger and the Ezrach.

One law shall be for the native-born [Ezrach] and for the stranger [Ger] who dwells with you.” (Exo 12:49)

The Stranger [Ger] who dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you [Ezrach], and you shall love him as yourself; for you were Strangers [Gerim] in the land of Egypt: I am Yehovah, your God. (Lev 19:34)

There are no Gentiles in Yehovah’s kingdom; there are only Ger and Ezrach who were all, at one time, Gentiles; and these men have women (wives), sons, daughters, male servants and female servants.

These are the only people in Yehovah’s kingdom.

  • The Ezrach, the native-born man, Yehovah’s son, Israel
  • The Ezrach have women / wives
  • And sons and daughters
  • They have male and female servants
  • And Gerim (Strangers) who dwell with them
  • And, finally, the Gerim also have women / wives and children with them

These are the people who make up the nation Israel! But is Yehovah not talking to all of these people when he says to Moses,

“Speak to Israel’s son/seed, and say to them: ‘I am Yehovah, your Elohim. According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances. You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am Yehovah, your Elohim. (Lev 18:2-4)

Clearly the “you” and the “your” here are Israel’s son/seed! But to understand who Israel’s son/seed are we look line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little. And once we begin to see they are also the Ezrach, Yehovah’s native-born men, we will never look at Yehovah’s word the same again. Look at the 4th commandment and ask yourself, “To whom is He speaking?”

Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah, your Elohim. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger [ger] who is within your gates. (Exo 20:9-10)

So in this one verse alone we have ruled out the son, the daughter, the male servant, the female servant and the Ger from being the “you” or the “your.” So who is left to consider? Only the Ezrach, Yehovah’s seed, Israel, and their women.

But now look at the 10th commandment. And ask the same question once again. “To whom is He speaking?”

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s woman, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.” (Exo 20:17)

This verse eliminates your woman and your neighbors’ woman from being the “your” in “Your Elohim.” Everything listed here are the possessions of the “your.” So the only one left to be the “your” is Israel’s son/seed, the Ezrach, the born in the land man.

Once you fully understand what I am saying here, you will see this everywhere in the Torah.

The instructions which Yehovah gave concerning His feasts, like all His commandments, were given to His son, Israel. Check it out!

And Yehovah spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Israel’s son/seed, and say to them: ‘The feasts of Yehovah, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts. (Lev 23:1-2)

For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before Yehovah, your Elohim three times in the year. (Exo 34:24)

Only the Ezrach can own the land, not his woman; she, like the land, is his possession. The Ger also has no land, he dwells with the Ezrach.

Three times a year all the your males appear before Yehovah.

Three times a year all your males shall appear before Yehovah, your Elohim in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before Yehovah empty-handed. Every man [eesh] shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yehovah, your Elohim which He has given you. (Deu_16:16-17)

But once every seven years, at the feast of Tabernacles, everyone must appear before Yehovah. Look who everyone is.

And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time, in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles, when all Israel comes to appear before Yehovah, your Elohim in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, the men and women and children [taph, not beni] and your Ger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear Yehovah, your Elohim and carefully observe all the words of this law, and that their sons, who do not know [the law], may hear and learn to fear Yehovah, your Elohim as long as you live in the land which you shall cross the Jordan to possess.” (Deu 31:10-13)

But here is the verse that really made all this come together for me. It has to do with who sits or dwells in the in the “protective covering” [suk-kah] during the first 7 days of this final feast in Yehovah’s year.

You shall keep it as a feast to Yehovah for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall be seated in protective coverings for seven days. All who are native [Ezrach] shall be seated in protective coverings, that your generations may know that I made Israel’s son/seed sit in protective coverings when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yehovah, your Elohim.’ ” (Lev 23:41-43)

What a travesty! By presuming that we are the “your” in “your Elohim” we have failed to learn how we [men] must become the “your,” Yehovah’s native-born son, the Ezrach, His Israel. This is why I put together my “Born again” series that teaches the Gentile how he can leave the elohim of his birth, join himself to Yehovah and become a Ger. And finally how that Ger, at Passover, can enter into covenant with Yehovah and become as one born in the land, an Ezrach, His son, Israel and make Yehovah, your Elohim.

Every time we read the words “Yehovah, your Elohim” we must understand who the “your” actually is, if we want to live with our new Elohim forever.

Deuteronomy 4

Sixteen times in Deuteronomy 4 the words “Yehovah, your Elohim” is used; this is the chapter just before Moses recalls the giving of the 10 commandments, and then, all the statutes and judgments to the “your,” “Israel’s spiritual son/seed,” in “Yehovah, your Elohim.” This teaching is followed by another 1 1/2 hours of questions. Sometime I think people enjoy the question times more than the class, and we had a GREAT class today in Deuteronomy 4. Here it is!
