Within Thy Gates (1)

within thy gatesMany of us read the “you”s in Torah and assume that we are the “you” that Yehovah is speaking to; but you would be wrong! Yehovah did not speak to any of His son/seed, beni Israel, until he brought them (with their families) out of Egypt. Yehovah did not speak to a single Egyptian (Gentile) except Pharaoh; and all of His commandment were given directly to His Ezrach men. Yehovah does not command the women, the children, the male or female servants or even the Ger who dwells “within thy gates;” they all follow their master, their adon, the Ezrach man.

So who is the “thy” in the phrase “within thy gates”?

There are only two kinds of men that Yehovah brought out of Egypt; the Ezrach and the Ger.

One law shall be for the native-born man [Ezrach] and for the stranger [Ger] who dwells with thee.” (Exo 12:49)

Thou shall have one law for him who sins unintentionally, for him who is native-born [Ezrach] among Israel’s seed and for the stranger [Ger] who dwells among them. ‘But the person who does anything presumptuously, whether he is native-born [Ezrach] or a stranger [Ger], that one brings reproach on Yehovah, and he shall be cut off from among his people. (Num 15:29-30)

And the stranger [Ger] who dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you [Ezrach], and thou shall love him as thyself; for ye were strangers [Gerim] in the land of Egypt: I am Yehovah your Elohim. (Lev 19:34)

Both of these two kinds of men have left their Egypt (with those family members who would follow them) and have become citizens of Yehovah’s eternal and unchanging kingdom; they no longer have covenants with their old elohim (law-makers and judges) in Egypt / Babylon.

Within THY Gates

But because the English word “you” is both singular and plural AND because most people simply do not know how to read with understanding, we have learned and accepted many lies as truth.

The King James Version is helpful in this area, as it makes a distinction between the singular “you” with the words “thee,” “thy” and “thou;” and the plural you with the words “ye”, “you” and “your”.

When Yehovah spoke to Israel’s seed from the mountain, who was He actually speaking to? The 1st and the 4th commandment should be adequate for thy understanding. but I will include the 10th commandment as well. All the “bolded” people here, are NOT the “thy.”

“I am Yehovah, thy Elohim, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shall have no other elohim existing before My face.” (Exo 20:2-3)

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days thou shall labor and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy Elohim. In it you shall do no work: thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy male servant, nor thy female servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger who is WITHIN THY GATES. For in six days Yehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. (Exo 20:8-11)

“Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s house. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s woman [not thy neighbor’s man] , nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.” (Exo 20:17)

What are some conclusions we can draw from these three commandments?

  • Yehovah is the elohim of the “thy” and all the commandments are given to him.
  • No Egyptians / Gentiles were ever commanded to keep Yehovah’s Sabbath, or any of his Commandments for that matter.
  • The “thy” can not be the son, daughter, male servant, female servant nor the Ger / stranger “within thy gates.”
  • The ‘thy” is not a woman.
  • Everything “within thy gates” belong to the “thy.”

The only one left, who can be the ‘”thy,” in “within thy Gates,” is the Ezrach man. The “thy” is the man who has experienced a second birth (at Passover) and the one who is in covenant with Yehovah. He is Yehovah’s segulah, His heir, the spiritual seed which He promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the head of a large and extended family that even includes other men (with their families) who are NOT from the same gene pool. More on that next time.

“Within Thy Gates”

We see this term “within thy gates” everywhere in Torah, but we are blinded by our preconceived ideas and assumptions which we have previously established as truth in our minds.

I presumed for many years that the “gates” Yehovah was talking about was where I lived and I thought I was the “thy.” I believe I made this mistake because I was trying to fit my modern-day ideas into Torah, instead of arranging my whole life to conform to Torah. Most people today live in a modern-day “nuclear family,” (me, my wife and my two kids); and have no understanding of the very large, multi-generational family which Yehovah expects. These are the family units which take care of their elderly, their widows and their fatherless children right on the property. There are no orphanages, widow-ages and no nursing homes in Israel.

This is just the beginning of what the “thy,” who serves only THE elohim on the mountain, and their gates are like. In part 2 we will see that Abraham had gates, Moses had gates and the 144,000 Ezrach servants who Yehovah is currently raising up from dead bones, all over the world, will also have gates in each of their set-apart locations in the last days.
