Identity Crisis Among Yehovah’s people

Yehovah’s [the LORD’s] people are now going through an identity crisis. Israel was scattered into all the nations where they have been for between 2000 and 3000 years. We were disobedient, and like a wife that will not obey her husband, we were given a bill of divorcement and sent away.

Today we are beginning to hear that very small voice in us which is the Creator of the universe calling us back. Many of us have repented of our ways and have begun learning the Creator’s ways given to us, his called-out men, through Moses. But by what name do we, those who are leaving our Egypt and coming to Yehovah, call ourselves?

Identity Crisis

Identity Crisis in IsraelI write this note with great concern for each precious individual who is seeking Yehovah and His eternal and unchanging ways so diligently. I see so many folks that are beginning to call themselves “Messianic.” But what does that mean? Are names really important? I believe they are; more important than we know. I called myself a “Christ”ian for many years as I served in the kingdoms of men, but I never learned the ways of the Creator given through Moses. Instead I learned and kept the statutes, ordinances and holidays of men. THAT was a very broad road on which I had been taught to travel.

Identity Crisis – Confusion

In the 70’s many people of Judah who had learned the ways of Judaism had begun to repent and acknowledged the man who many call “Yeshua Messiah” (Jesus) and joined themselves to yet another religion of men called Christianity; they called themselves “Completed Jews.” Where is that in Torah?

Unfortunately, while Christianity has ignored almost all the ways of the Creator, Judaism has added many (man-made) ways and traditions to His ways. But are we allowed to add to or subtract from any of Yehovah’s instructions which were given to His called-out men by Himself and through Moses?

“Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I teach you to observe, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which Yehovah, God (Elohim – lawmaker and judge) of your fathers is giving you. You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yehovah, your Elohim which I command you.” (Deu 4:1-2)

“Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.” (Deu 12:32)

Now, as I said earlier, we have a brand new and growing group of people who call themselves “Messianic.” I believe that it is a very subtle way of saying “Messianic Judaism.” These people bring their Romanized Christian ways to Judaism. This blended group has the potential to be the worst of two worlds and they have, as a result, been labeled by many as “Messy-antics.

The remedy is for us all to open the True Scriptures and begin to learn only Yehovah’s created order for “the man” and for “the man’s” woman. We are told to:

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to Elohim, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Ti 2:15)

This word of truth is the Law and the Prophets! But where do most religious people spend their time?

Answer – In the commentaries, the NT!

Identity Crisis – Resolved

Our failure, to be individually diligent to show ourselves approved by rightly dividing the word of truth, will only keep us on the “broad road” and in broad road religions.

In these last days True Israel (with their families) is beginning to rise up and these men will follow only Yehovah’s ways and none other. What does Yehovah Himself say that these men will name themselves?

“Yet hear me now, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen. Thus says Yehovah who made thee and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: ‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant; and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My spirit on thy seed [zerah – only men have seed], and My blessing on thy offspring; they will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses.’ One will say, ‘I am Yehovah’s‘; Another will call himself by the name of Jacob; another will write with his hand, ‘Yehovah’s,’ And name himself by the name of Israel’. “(Isa 44:1-5)
