Many times a week, on Facebook, I find someone who has shared a picture that says something Like this. “I’m a Hebrew, I have left the doctrines and traditions of men!”
What Makes A Hebrew A Hebrew?
Leaving “the doctrines and traditions of men” does not make a man a Hebrew. Leaving the kingdom of your birth and joining yourself to to Yehovah and His called-out men, does.
Then they will heed your voice; and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt; and you shall say to him, ‘Yehovah, The Hebrews’ Elohim has met with us; and now, please, let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’ (Exo 3:18)So they said, “The Hebrews’ Elohim has met with us. Please, let us go three days’ journey into the desert and slaughter to Yehovah, Our Elohim, lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.” (Exo 5:3)And you shall say to him, ‘Yehovah The Hebrews’ Elohim has sent me to you, saying, “Let My people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness”; but indeed, until now you would not hear! (Exo 7:16)
Yehovah Said He Would Make A Difference Between His People and Pharaoh’s People
And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms shall be there, in order that you may know that I am Yehovah in the midst of the land. I will make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall be.” ‘ ” (Exo 8:22-23)
Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; their laws are different from all other people’s, AND THEY DO NOT KEEP THE KING’S LAWS. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain. (Est 3:8)
Abram is the first man in the scriptures to be called a “Hebrew,” He served only Yehovah.
Then one who had escaped came and told Abram, the Hebrew, for he dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner; and they were allies with Abram. (Gen 14:13)
There were no Egyptians, Babylonians, or citizens of any other countries numbered among Yehovah’s people. How Does A Man Become A Hebrew? He leaves the kingdom of his birth and becomes wholly Yehovah’s man. A man can not serve two masters, just as a woman can not serve two men.
We will talk about this more today as me begin to see the 10 plagues that fell on Egypt.
