The light of Elohim begins to shine in the midst of a very dark world. The 70 nations are now gathered with Nimrod (and his princes) at the helm. They are leading all of ha-a-dam’s seed into ways they should not go. It is in this context that the light of Yehovah is raised for all to see in the life of Abram who, we will see in future lessons, warns Nimrod to turn from his wicked ways.

And they [Nimrod and his princes] said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” (Gen 11:4)

Yasher 8:21 And all the princes of Nimrod and his great men took counsel together; Phut, Mitzraim, Cush and Canaan with their families, and they said to each other, Come let us build ourselves a city and in it a strong tower, and its top reaching heaven, and we will make ourselves famed, so that we may reign upon the whole world, in order that the evil of our enemies may cease from us, that we may reign mightily over them, and that we may not become scattered over the earth on account of their wars.

These wicked men, Ham’s seed, are rebelling against every thing that Yehovah has commanded them.

So Elohim blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. (Gen 9:1)

We are still building Nimrodian kingdoms for ourselves, and establishing our own statutes, and ordinances and judgments; nothing has changed! Yehovah saw what was happening in Babylon and divided the people, the men (with their families), all over the face of the earth. We can read this story in the first part of Genesis 11.

The remainder of this chapter is all about the genealogy of Shem through Abram. It is in this context, of the rebellion of ha-a-dam’s seed, in which Yehovah brings great light in into our very dark world through his current Melchizedek, Shem.

The Melchizedek, the highest ranking member in Yehovah’s kingdom on the earth, who came from the line of Seth, and then the line of Shem after the flood. Each Melchizedek had the rod of Elohim passed down to him by the previous Melchizedek. It went from Adam, to Enoch, to Methuselah, to Noah, to Shem, to Abraham, to Jacob, to Joseph, and finally it came to Moses just before he brought Yehovah’s people out of the land of Egypt. Noah’s ark – Pop quiz

Noah's ark
Sometimes the details in Torah are easily overlooked; but many of them are most revealing for the man who searches the scriptures as he searches for silver and fine gold. The story of Noah’s ark is one of them. Here is a pop quiz.

The movie “Noah’s Ark” is just like the story! (Ha – I make me laugh!)

The Defeat Of Sihon And Og

Defeat of Sihon and OgThe conquest of the our land on the east side of the Jordan river is described in Numbers chapter 21. This story really began in the 36th year after we came out of Egypt when Yehovah stirred the heart of Og, the Amorite king, to take the land between the Jabbok and the Arnon rivers (land which belonged to Moab) for himself.

Most people will tell you that Balaam, the son of Beor, is not mentioned until Numbers 22, but I found him, and his dad, in chapter 21. They, are the men, “those who speak in proverbs,” mentioned in Numbers 21:27, and it is their divined “prophecy” which is recorded in verses 27 – 30.

Jasher 84:19 Therefore the parable speakers Beor and Balaam his son uttered these words saying, “Come unto Heshbon, the city of Sihon will be built and established.
20 Woe unto thee Moab! thou art lost, O people of Kemosh!” behold it is written upon the book of the law of God.

Therefore those who speak in proverbs say: “Come to Heshbon, let it be built; let the city of Sihon be repaired. “For fire went out from Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon; it consumed Ar of Moab, the lords of the heights of the Arnon. Woe to you, Moab! You have perished, O people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity. to Sihon king of the Amorites. But we have shot at them; Heshbon has perished as far as Dibon. Then we laid waste as far as Nophah, which reaches to Medeba.” (Num 21:27-30)

Why does this chapter begin with us, Israel (Yehovah’s spiritually born sons) fighting with the Canaanite king of Arad and his very heavy army? After leaving Kadesh in the first month of the fortieth year after we came out of Egypt, did we really go south, down and around Edom before turning north?

Sometimes it is hard to get past the theology of those who translate the Hebrew text. But, if we will take the time to search out what Yehovah’s word actually says, then we are in for a really great adventure.

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. (Pro 25:2)

If you are not satisfied with the doctrines and traditions of men which most everyone teaches, you should join me as we search out the Torah each week, verse by verse.

Here is this weeks lesson.

Birth control in the antediluvian world

Many ask, “If Adam and Eve had only three sons, where did we come from?” They ask questions like this because they skip over many parts of the scriptures, especially “the begats.” Genesis 5 and its complement in Yasher has some real surprises for those who read carefully.

After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons (benim) and daughters (benot). (Gen 5:4)

The men and the women of the antediluvian world appear to be having children during a large part of their life. Noah took a woman whose name was Naamah (582 years old) when he was 498 years old and she bore him three sons. Genesis says they were born when he was 500 years old, but here is what Yasher says,

Yasher 5:16 And Noah was four hundred and ninety-eight years old, when he took Naamah for a wife.
17 And Naamah [582 years old] conceived and bare a son, and he called his name Japheth, saying, God has enlarged me in the earth; and she conceived again and bare a son, and he called his name Shem, saying, God has made me a remnant, to raise up seed in the midst of the earth.
18 And Noah was five hundred and two years old when Naamah bare Shem, and the boys grew up and went in the ways of the Lord, in all that Methuselah and Noah their father taught them.

And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Gen 5:32)

Ham is not mentioned in Yasher. Is it possible that all these patriarchs had many more sons and daughters who were not recorded because they were, well women, and wicked men who were not part of the righteous line of men who led the people of Elohim.

Yehovah commanded Adam to “be fruitful and multiply.” But would you believe that even the men of the antediluvian world were so wicked that they started using birth control? Oh ouch, that hits a bit close to home.

birth controlJasher 2:19 For in those days the sons of men began to trespass against Elohim, and to transgress the commandments which he had commanded to Adam, to be fruitful and multiply in the earth.
20 And some of the sons of men caused their women to drink a draught that would render them barren, in order that they might retain their figures and whereby their beautiful appearance might not fade.
21 And when the sons of men caused some of their women to drink, Zillah drank with them.
22 And the child-bearing women appeared abominable in the sight of their men as widows, whilst their men lived, for to the barren ones only they were attached.

Genesis 2 – Creation Of “The Man” And His Woman

Genesis 2 reveals much about the duties and responsibilities for a man and his woman. Failure to understand these principles will corrupt all our further “understandings” and lead us in ways that Yehovah never intended.

Was it the man or his woman who was created in Yehovah’s image? Why is it that practically every time in this chapter my New King James Version says either “Adam” or “man” when the Hebrew says that it should say “the man”? And the 2 times that the NKJV actually translates “man” correctly was when it was a different Hebrew word altogether (אישׁ – eesh).

Who was it that Yehovah spoke to, “the man” or his woman ? What were the circumstances concerning the creation of ‘the man’ and his woman in Genesis 2? Why was she created? What does “bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh actually mean”? What does it mean when a man becomes “one flesh” with his woman?

The answers to all these questions will be found as we go through this material in Genesis 2.

Moses Hits The Rock

To have a priesthood many believe that we must have the red heifer ashes in order to cover our uncleanliness, our tamei condition caused by being exposed to the dead; but to make the ashes of the red heifer we must have a priesthood. What is the answer to this “catch 22′” situation? Yehovah’s word always has answers.

Moses Hits The RockFrom the last verse of Numbers chapter 19 to the first verse of chapter 20, thirty-eight years have passed for the Israelites in the wilderness. The chapter begins with the death and burial of Miriam in the 1st month of the 40th year. Why 40th year? You’ll have to listen to find out.

We now have a whole new set of men, 20 years to about 40 years old, who are now supposed to follow Moses. But it is hard to overcome the training we received when we were young; and this new group of about 600,000 men, leaders of their families, is no exception.

Moses Hits The Rock

Israel’s seed is once again complaining to Moses and Aaron; this time about a shortage of water. Moses knows that a complaint against him is a complaint against Yehovah and falls on His face to pray for them. Yehovah appears and gives Moses simple and clear instructions, “Take THE rod and speak to the rock.” Moses fails to do this and that means the death of Aaron is at hand and Moses’ death is imminent.

On the first day of the fifth month in the fortieth year Aaron went up Mount Hor and did not return, Israel mourned the death of Aaron for 30 days.

We finished with an outlined overview our conquest of the of the land on the East side of the Jordan and compared that to what we, Yehovah’s called-out people,  can expect in the coming last days.
